CIC Retrofit Issue - 5 mins before Controller works

I've got a weird issue with an 06 UK E91, with a CIC retrofit (complete, from standard headunit, not CCC).

It takes 5-10 minutes of a journey for the controller to start working. There are no responses to twists of the controller wheel or button presses on the controller.

This isn't replicated on the buttons on the CIC unit itself which still work perfectly. I can use them to change radio stations, swap to map, turn TP on and off.

I've had this issue since I fit the kit over a year ago, and since i mostly listen to the same radio station on my usual journeys, its not been an issue for me, since every time i go further than 5 minutes, the controller wheel starts to work. But the car is for sale (this issue is declared in the ad) and it'd be nice to fix this for the new owner.

I've got absolutely no idea where to look to fix this issue. anyone else seen anything similar? or even got suggestions?

How did you make the connections for the retrofit?

You shouldn't us the same junction for all CAN Connections. Spread them out, specially the emulator.
