It will be difficult to place blame on the dealership. This is so obvious that it had to evident when the OP picked the car up - raining or not.

In addition, this didn't "just happen." Like another poster said, this looks like extreme neglect over time and, had it happened at the dealership, would have been obvious to them.

Could the OP be a troll?

Holy Shit...Is it only on the hood or did it happen to the top sides of the front fenders to? Definitely going to have to get it re sprayed, Im just wondering what caused it. Maybe the car had been sitting outside all day and got the hood super super hot then they immediately hit it with some super cold water to wash it???

like i said, i brought in the car pre washed.. so when i picked it up, they typically wash the car for me. car was in the dealer for 6 days.
ITS ONLY ON THE HOOD....

what you guys are are seeing is the white cracks when i go over it with detail, and wax.
so ultimately when you wipe this all away. you are seeing black cracks. it looks like neglect of paint. im very detailed with my paint especially on a black car. i didnt see this until i put my face to the car and washed it properly. why is it only on the hood?

Your hood will need a full repaint in order to remedy this issue properly. If it isn't your fault then it shouldn't be on your tab.
Agreed, but also make sure to make a point about how unbelievable and dissatisfied you are. How could they not see this before you got it back.

Why would you leave the dealer in the first place? I would have left the car there to begin with. Please don't say that you just got in your car and drove away without giving it a once over...

Dealer damaged my hood when it was in for service. I did not notice because there was salt all over my car and the scratch/ding was white. I noticed a week later, called them and they took care of it no questions asked. Tischer ftmfw.

My best guess is they spilled some extremely harsh chemical on your hood.

the car was dirty, and i needed to make a run for an interview at apple... they did mention they did NOT wash it and left it outside in the rain.

i was just at the dealer raising hell and now they are telling me the paint is NOT factory. i bought the car with 30k from the dealer i brought it to. car fax says no accidents. so for all we know at this point it could have been a repaint unclaimed. my other panels are untouched... weird...
im clueless as to how i can handle this with them to move forward. i cant pinpoint it to bmw paint or some cheap body shop painting it. i have no records..... i think im fuxxored.
