My 2006 320d has always returned poor economy figures when I've compared them to others. I mainly drive around town, short bursts with a little motorway in between. I generally get around 32mpg but often lower especially now the weathers getting colder despite putting Shell V power diesel in exclusively.
On motorway runs (100 miles average) I get around 50mpg when I reset the ccounter which is a lot better to stomach. Not great really when my R32 averaged 30mpg around town and around 40mpg plus on the motorway. I've just had the air, fuel and oil filters replaced along with the oil seperator and fuel economy hasn't improved one iota. |

45.5 average over last 3 months according to OBC, since the last reset, mixture of local driving and longer runs, some in peak times. I was getting 32-36 out of my 2006 335d, and was hoping for closer to 50mpg out of the 320d, but 45 mpg isn't bad and the 750+ mile range is nice.

You will not get 50mpg out of a auto 325d. I averaged 34mpg out of mine but I did drive it like it was stolen most of the time.
I did get an average 44mpg on my 1500 mile trip to the geneva motor show this year which included some high speed runs on the autobahns got 158 mph (speedo) with 3 adults. One of life's great experiences |
