This place is a trip.
Facts from a published REPORT. Not from the CEO of Ford. The post of not wanting their M4 confused with a lowly Mustang ... What happens if... "hey dude, is that one of the new Mustangs ?" Tears? Trade in? Run off a bridge? Move to Tibet? Edit: Criticizing the posting of reported weight is what I was criticizing. Last edited by gonzo; 12-05-2013 at 03:38 PM.. |

I like it but I'm partial. I own a '14 Shelby Cobra.
BMW should be very scared of this car.

I agree. In fact, I think the ass end looks pretty nice myself:
http://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/201...lery=rear-hand I would hope the "GT" is removable without leaving holes. It's a little large, IMO

Owner of said M4 is more dense than those who would be "confused."

Fking sexy, can't wait to see it at Detroit. I've heard the GT and it sounds incredible. Will wait to comment on interior till I sit in it.
All speculating on weight/size - why don't we wait till they release specs? I haven't read anything official other than a wider stance. Purists will probably hate this, as it's edging away from pony car roots, mainly rear suspension. |

Looks awful. Seems the Americans are right behind the Germans in trying to Asian-up their cars as much as possible. New cars all look like I should be using them to shave.
Edit: looking over the pictures in the compilation thread, some shots look good but seem to be renders rather than real photos. The production photos and the video look bad. From the side/3 quarters view, the front actually looks pretty good, but head on (especially with the headlights off), the car looks like it has Down's syndrome. The looks are still growing on me. I don't know what to make of the rear--it does look too slanted from some angles. The front looks nice from a 1/4 view, but the straight on shot, not as much. Overall, I like the profile and I think the outdoor shots look really nice.
Mechanically, the car will be superior to my '13 GT in every way. The power/torque will increase, the car is reportedly going to be lighter, the track width is wider, there will be optional 15" 6-piston Brembo brakes up front that come with the performance package (presumably the same setup that comes on the current GT500), 13" brakes in the rear, and of course, the IRS. The front suspension system will also be upgraded to be stronger and lighter. Overall, this car will handle, turn, brake, accelerate, and perform much better than the outgoing model. There will also be different driving modes: comfort, sport, track, and snow. For me, that's bittersweet until I can get my hands on one of these a few years down the road (still probably won't be able to afford an M3/M4). I'm sure the looks will grow on me over time. Can't wait to see the GT350 or possibly a Mach 1 variant. Should be pretty bad-ass. As others have said, interior doesn't seem like anything special. I'm not liking the '05 - '09 styled circular vents on the dash. In fact, I much prefer the way my GT/CS dash looks with rectangular vents. But hey, I guess you can't have it all. |

The disappointing thing I see is that Ford decided to sell the new Mustang in Europe, which means it has to have a front end designed for the pedestrian crash requirements Europe has, so it makes the front end bigger and taller than it normally would be. I hate when politicians start designing cars...

Really like the overall look, but that body colored rear diffuser is awful.

I think that looks pretty damn stunning to be honest. Rear and interior are problems but this view makes it look like the baddest Mustang ever.

It's strange, the pics on the ford website show a 2 toned diffuser but that vid shows body colored (which I agree looks horrible).
