It's only been out for a month or two. This is the radio to get right now. I was gonna try the new Kenwood DNX9140 but then I heard about this one. It's a lot better than the Z1 and Z2 I had before. |

When the faceplate folds down (screen faces upwards), is there a chance that the shifter would hit the screen?
Just wondering in case anyone hits the open button by accident while driving! |

I'm surprised noone has asked this yet. It doesn't hit the shifter in any gear and I don't even have an SSK yet.

Yes I do. You need something like the SoundGate CANNAV to retain PDC. |

Looks nice and clean but as some other have said, too low. I hate adding aftermarket stereo equipment to cars and honestly, the idrive works just fine. I really don't know why people complain about it so much.

I think this is a great solution for those of us who do not have iDrive, or BMW assist.

Relocating the OEM radio to the trunk to retain CHIMES w/ an aftermarket headunit. Here's what you need: Instructions: You need to run five wires from the dash to the trunk. Three of the wires are to connect pins 9, 11 and 15 on 71-9003 to pins 9, 11 and 15 on 70-9003. The two remaining wires are for a small speaker (8 Ohm) so you can hear the chimes. This speaker gets mounted in the OEM location under the driver's side dash. Pin 12 on 71-9003 gets grounded in the trunk. Rich |
