2009-2011 328xi or 335xi?

I just got rid of my 2002 330ci and I'm in the market for a new 328xi or 335xi in the years 2009-2011. I have 34k to spend (after taxes, etc.) and I'm not sure which car would be the best for me to buy. I was leaning towards a 328xi only because I see sometimes there can be a lot of problems with the turbos, waste gates, fuel pumps, etc. with the 335xi but I know the power the 335xi offers and I of course love it. What do you guys think would be the smartest thing for me to do thinking about the long run about 2-3 years down the road?

I'd look for a 2009 335i cpo. You might find one in your price range.

If budget allows, I'd go for 335 instead of 328.

Me too. I purchased the 328xi, and love it, but an extra $5k on a 335xi would have been sweet. You can get a 2009 335xi CPO with under 30k miles around here for $32k or so. The main difference isn't the power (which is nice, but the 328 has plenty of torque coming out of corners, I am not desiring more), but the tranny. The 328xi tranny can be a little sluggish, even in manual. The 335 is so much quicker between shifts.

It depends, If you are going to mod your car I would go 335. If your only going to use it as a daily driver, I would get a 328. In hindsight, I should have went with a 328. Would have been more reliable and cheaper.

I got my 2008 E90 335xi CPO well equipped (no Nav, ACC, 6FL, Sat radio, alarm, PDC, or 18" wheels... but has EVERYTHING else). Had 17k miles and 10 months of factory warranty (Got it for $30k, not including tax/title/lic/doc/etc)

I would highly recommend getting the wheel and tire protection but pay no more then $1k for 5 year warranty on 17" wheels. Just hope you pick up nails/bubbles on the wheels in pairs
