335is or 435i?
Hey guys I'm having a tough time deciding if I should place an order on a 335is real soon or wait for the 4 series to come out but I'm worried if i wait for it I might not like it as much compared to the IS and be stuck on regretting my decision not to get a new IS when I could've. What do you guys think? Thoughts appreciated. Thanks

Well what I'm thinking is that you should test drive a new 335i to see if you like it. The 4 series will be more or less similar (speculation). Are you leasing or what? It's possible to lease until the LCI of the 4 series comes out and maybe you'll want to buy one then haha.

test drive a 335is and a new F30 335i. The new 4 will drive more like the F30. make your decision from there...? I haven't driven a F30 yet so I can't tell you what you'll like better, but buzz has it that the steering/suspension of the E92 feels better.

Probably the best advice you're gonna get. Try out the F30.

I had the same situation. The steering feel on the f30 was vague and I did not care for it when I went on a test drive (even in sport mode). I was also afraid the new 4 would have the hideous front end like the f30. Also I am in the minority when I say I like the simple interior of the e92. Lastly I felt an IS might hold its value better since its a limited edition. Test drive one, the dct and torque will blow you away. My two cents...

If I had to choose right now between the two (I already own a 335is) I would choose neither and choose a 2012-2013 E92 M3... Hands Down...

The F30 328i xdrive steering feels like a Japanese car (light/loose type of feeling). I believe the 4-series is going to feel just like that.
But it is a very nice looking and luxurious-feeling car. |

as stated i also agree with first going and test driving the F30 to see how it feels, but IMO i think the 335iS is the overall better choice to go with.
good luck on your decision!

Why not wait for the F30 to be LCIed first? If they're improving the steering of the F10 LCI, I'm sure the same will be done for the F30.

I was wondering the same and just ordered my 335is and will pick it up in Spartanburg in June. I love my current 335i and even though the new cars are great cars, I just am not ready yet for the "softer" driving experience of the F30/32.

I jumped through my ass to get rid of my 370Z ASAP just last week so I could order my 335is before it was too late. Good thing I did, cause I got the last 335is the dealer will ever have. Previously I had a 2008 335i and fell in love with the N54. Later test drove the new N55 and found it lacking in character and way down on top end grunt, very disappointed that BMW was going this direction apparently hoping that enthusiasts wouldn't notice. Maybe they are right, given the number of automatics sold in the states, and assclowns proud of a roundel...
SO, given the trend for BMW to be making things crappier, fatter, heavier, less drivers cars and more lifestyle appliance, there was just no way I was willing to gamble on my last chance to have an N54 back... I just really hope I am wrong, and that I will be salivating for a new 4 coupe in just a year or so, maybe they will make a great coupe, and not an empty codpiece. So the long way to getting to the point, I voted N54, before things could get any worse.

^ what he says. Had a 08 335 with N54, loved it. Moved 'up" to a 11 335 with a N55, hated it. Car looked great but performance was less than desired even with a tune. I've driven loaner F30s and was less than impressed. I can't get past the 'tablet stuck on the dash' look and the overall feel of the vehicle. It's personal preference I guess. As a matter of fact, if BMW didn't offer the 335is with the N54 I wouldn't even of considered another BMW at this point. The M3/M4 is too far out plus I never buy the first year of a new model. I'd probably be in a S4/S5 paying $200 more a month right now with Audi's crappy lease program.

End of a model run is always better than a first yr IMO... They did a great job with the "IS" i am really happy with it.

I'm very torn right now about ordering a 335is to replace my 09 335i. I love the engine and really love the DCT. The loaners I've had have left me less than impressed. I've also looked at slightly used M3s, but with little effort my current car easily beats them, although the suspension bit would be nice.

If you want a 335is, take over my lease in a few months when I get the 4series lol. I am local and have a loaded white/red with a low payment.

If you want a new 335is you have until the end of April to place your order. Just saying. I work for a dealership. After April orders stop since production ceases this summer.
