So I researched this Error on Flash Programming 211 error for many people who are trying to update KOMBI.
To research this problem I bought I used KOMBI (high) from eBay and coded it to my car. When trying to update with WINKFP I got the error above! From UIF I had 9148031 and selected update was 9316154. However every time the flash would fail. The problem appears to be with the associated HW-NR. I tried every ZB-NR which had the same HW-NR and each failed in the same way. So, if you open your KOMBI ecu family HIS file E.g. C:/EC-APPS/NFS/DATA/HKOML2.HIS and search for your auto suggested ZB-NR (in my case 9316154 you will see it appear in the column ZB-NEU. Next to this will be the column ZB-ALT. In my case, 9283842. Running 9283842 through www.bmwfans.info the ZB-NR indeed refers to the same KOMBI. You can the. Manually choose this ZUSB number in winkfp and the update should proceed. If that ZB-NR isn't found in winkfp, go back to bmwfans and underneath the number it will show the ZUSB number for the next most recent revision. Try this one. It won't be the latest updates, but using this method I updated my KOMBI from 2006 to 2013 win new chimes, DSC icon etc etc. Everything works perfectly. Hope this helps someone |

Great, after finish it may be also worth using comfort mode 'update' to see if it auto selects different or same zusb number.
But I think for you 9242370 is good enough. It's from 03/2011 I think. |

I'm glad it worked for you. The LCI chimes will require an LCI Professional HU i think?
I don't know too much about the HU unfortunately I'd be interested to look at this though as someone else said it requires HU from 2008 and not LCI. |

Although I see from another post: "You have only to recode PDC module having added $663 to the VO and then, change this value at kombi: HU_VERBAUT_C08 radiostufe_3_4" |

Worked for me. My 09 335i ALT was 9283839 which wasn't found, so I used 9242370 which was from 3/11 and updated everything. I thought I would loose my coding, but everything was still there (gauges always lit, digi speed, and efficient dynamic shift icons).

I can confirm, this method works!
I was getting WinKFP error 3012 when trying the standard way of updating my Kombi. I found out the ZUSB of my Kombi "1 version back" and manually selected that (but still in comfort mode). It flashed, and worked! I did not have a chance to try manually flashing the latest kombi as I ran out of time, but at least my kombi is now 2011 version, it used to be 2007. I will try manually selecting the latest version and report back. Vehicle I did this on was E92 M3, 07.07 production. FYI : Used to have ZUSB : 7840543 Flashed to : 7844311 WinKFP shows latest is : 7847279 Remember, don't just go selecting those for no reason... Those are specifically for an E9X M3... Perhaps european model, but I am not sure if the Kombi software between US / EUR differs. |
