Tuning a 335d + Meeting Emission Requirements

Ok, I must admit there is a slew of information in the diesel forums and quite frankly this is me for the most part .
I have a very basic understanding of what the dpf, scr and egr do.

I am however interested in keeping my car for a longer time and would like to tune it. I read about the JR stage 1 tune keeping all stock components, but I was also interested in the DPF, SCR, and EGR removal.

What modifications do you have on your 335d and have passed emissions in Ontario?

what modifications can you do and still pass emissions in Ontario?

A "Stage 1 Tune" (which I have) will allow you to pass emissions but anything beyond that won't.

Ya, Stage 1 Tune will let you pass emissions, as no component is removed. EGR alone can be tuned out, but it may lead to a fail in the emissions test, as it a emission control component.

Installing an Oil catch can will help reducing the amount of possible carbon build up as well

You can block the EGR with iaknown's plates. Just need to reset the codes every time you get in the car.

Alternatively. Catch can + meth should keep you emission friendly.

I have a catch can installed and planning on adding meth in the spring.

Engine health and emissions regulations don't play well together. It's one or the other.
