Dealer oil change special $250?!?!

Does an E9x out of maintenance oil change really cost this much from the dealer?

Doesn't seem like a deal to me.

All "do it yourself" comments aside, I was just wondering what dealers were thinking. Is this just a huge scam, or is there something there that really costs the dealer that much.

Yep, I'd hate to forget to bring the coupon, and have the SA write it up for $139....(there is a dealership where I keep getting a monthly email coupon for $69.99 not incl. M and diesels)

I got a steven's creek one too, but it says that the $89 is only for MY 2000-2005 and some 2006's, not E9x. You'll most likely be hit w/ a different price if you bring an e9x in there.

No, I brought my 07 335i there for its last oil change and they charged $90. You might want to ask your SA before bringing it in if you're worried.

I do all of my own maint since the car is out of warranty. It is very easy and much cheaper. My dealer wanted 175 to change an air filter that costs 25 bucks and takes 10 mins to change.

I think this thread has run it's course. I would like to hope that special was a huge typo somehow.

I'm out of factory warranty looking for an oil change. I called a couple local dealers in the LA area and I was quoted $359 and $290 just for an oil change from 2 different dealers... Then called some indy shops, one was $140 other was $125. I don't think that's a typo, some dealers are charging much more than that as standard. SCAM? Yes. TYPO? No.
