What car should I buy?

Hi guys,

My name is Victor. I am looking for some informations about 4 different cars I would like to buy. Considering that I'm gonna buy an used car.

My plan is spend $ 25,000.00 on this car.

I have 4 options:

- 2009 Nissan 370z
- 2005 Porsche Boxter S
- 2007 BMW 335i Coupe
- 2008 BMW 135i Coupe

I'd use this car for trackdays and daily. So, what do you guys think about your BMWs comparing with the other options?

Only one more question. I am from Brazil, but i just moved to Miami, FL. I am new here and I don't know the prices for the maintenance of those cars.

Could you guys help me with this decision?

Thanks for you attention,

Victor A.

For track AND daily, I might recommend the 135i... only because it's a year newer than the 335i (maybe a tad lighter too). Get the 335i if you prefer the looks/interior because there is not that much difference mechanically.

I also say get the newer car in case there is any warranty left (not likely anymore with an '08) since maintenance is included. It can get pricey post-warranty.

Oi, I can tell you from my personal history (in Indiana) my 2009 Nissan GT-R is cheaper to maintain AND also has lower cost insurance than my 2008 BMW 335xi. Good luck!

For the looks get the porsche, (most expensive to run), everyday use and track 335 + most comfy, 135 same performance less space, but still comfy, the nissan the most economic to run but the two seater down side (depends if you drive alone)

Garage List
2013 BMW M3  [10.00]
2015 BMW M4  [0.00]
2013 BMW F30  [0.00]
2014 BMW F22  [0.00]
2013 BMW F06  [0.00]
Choose the car with the best and longest warranty. All of them are pretty pricey to maintain with the exception of the Nissan, maybe.

370z is very cheap to maintain. I had a g37 coupe before and nothing but basic maintenance is needed. Assuming you get the sports package, the brake pads are a bit expensive as it has the big brake kit.

Thank you guys for help me!

I thought the 135i would be much faster than the 335i because of its weight!

In my opinion the 335i (e92) is the most beautiful.

Could you tell me whats upgrades I sould do on a 335i to get more power? But, I don't want to spend too much money.

Another upgrade that I really would like to know about is the Motorsport kit like this:

Whats the price of this kit? Where can I buy it online?

Thanks again,

Victor.

Not spending a lot of money and wanting the M-Kit don't go hand in hand bud.

For 25K, I'd get a new MINI S or GTI. Just saying.

get the 135i...ive had both a 335i and 135i and the 1 was my favorite im really considering getting another one. test drive both and see what you like the best, but a n54 with just jb4 or procede will be much more fun then the other cars listed.

I've had 335 coupe and sedan, as well as a 135. The chassis of the 335 coupe is the best IMO. The 135 is just so much fun, despite the 335 coupe being better on paper I'd pick he 1.

3 series is a good choice, especially if you are a daily driver. It's pretty spacious and cargo is good too. If you get it from dealer, you ll probably get a free maintenance program too.
I got some cosmetic upgrades myself for about $600:
carbon fiber spoiler lip, blacked out rims and side reflector, tinted windows, 1' rear wheel spacers, couple of carbon fiber looking tapes and that's it.

$600 for all that? Did you spray the wheels?

For a DD I would go with the 335i. The Boxster and Z are fun but not practical enough and dont offer the balance of sport and comfort as the 335. I LOVE the 135i, but for me the 335i just hit all the right buttons more the than 1. I would suggest taking both on extensive test drives and picking either

The Boxster S looks are now getting a little old, and not aging gracefully, especially since the new model was just released.

Ouch! kind of disagree there.

However, if I were the OP looking for a $25k daily driver, I'd get an E92 - perfect blend of good looks, nice interior, and performance.
