little pull fun

since I have had this car I have not raced anyone...

well yesterday was my day!

I take into considerations of the road and other drivers, speed limits, and intersections..

I was behind a hyundai genesis g80 with the 5.0 it still had paper plates. we were both approaching a left turn that had been green for a bit, so we both sped up to make the light (nothing crazy). he went into the outside land and I rolled on the throttle on the inside and I noticed he was speeding up. I punched the throttle and to my surprise I pulled away pretty good. I let off before I hit triple digits and an intersection. my wife was confused as to why I was going to fast and I told her.. she said "he isn't racing" as I let off and he flew past us and then she said "oh he was" (lol)

we both threw the "nod" and went on our way he want to say something but I was turning.

well that was my first win.. I thought the g80 was faster?? looked up the spec and it was very on par with the D and a JBD. I guess I romped it with the torque at a low RPM

Had a newer Ram 1500(5.7 liter HEMI) on my bumper in a construction zone with a 60mph limit. This was 9pm with no workers around, but cops are known to patrol the area and aren't very lenient, so I was going the speed limit. Dude was holding tight to my rear bumper so I passed a little smoke his way as soon as the speed limit went back up. This pissed him off something fierce, because I have to go WOT to smoke, and left a sizable gap between me and this guy. He's coming up fast and was set to pass me at 80 while I was going 70. I let the dude get dead even with me and then stomped it. Within about a second I was a bus length ahead of him. He didn't try any funny business after that.

Also, you've got a torque(G80 has 383, and it's way up in the rev range, ours has more lower down) and weight advantage(335d is around 00 pounds lighter). He would have caught you had y'all kept going, but keeping it under 100 gave you the win. Feels good, doesn't it?

If you can keep your foot out of it(that's a pretty big if), you'll get some good gains. In stock form it didn't matter how much I beat the car, it would always return about the same mileage. But now that I'm tuned it's much more reactive to hard driving. I plan on taking a 600 mile trip next weekend. Will update on mileage.

Agree - I'll have a better feel for the mileage AT (After Tune) when I travel to Florida. 750 miles - it's almost 95% interstate miles too...

Even if you do a few hard pulls (per tank), economy will drop noticeably. It is very dependant upon the style of driving. If you do most of the highway you might not notice the drop as the highway driving is gonna make up for it.

All city, however, is a different story. I usually get ~620-650 KM/per tank with 70/30 city/hwy. All highway - it's quite surprising. I can get up to 1k clicks with still room to play.

The worst one i had was 370 to a tank while testing the tune out.

Overall, it will still be better than stock!
