Thanks GenePoole, you're definitely the MAN! I'll seed as long as I can.
I have a kinda, sorta related question. How do I check to see what navigation OS version I'm running? I have what I am assuming is the MKIV CCC Professional, but I can't get to any menu that shows me what the version is. Help! Putzo... |

I don't think there is a way to check the version unless you have access to progman software. |

Hi *********,
Thanks for the quick response! I'm pretty sure my E92 has CCC - update 1. I'm getting my info from this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idrive You can tell me if you think that source is faulty. The "in-service" date for my car was June 2008 (in other words, manufactured prior to September 2008). At any rate, is there no other way to tell? I'd like to flash it to the latest version, but I won't mess with it if I can't even tell what version it's running now. Thanks again. Putzo... |

I just want to make sure it's up-to-date. I don't really have a reason other than that. :-) Goofy, I know. I work with computers, so I guess it's habit.

Also genepoole has an older E90 so he wouldn't be ordering the HDD version.
I get em confused too so I just look for model years under user names haha

Interesting. I only had the .iso for the west coast - not the NA cams one. Hmm. . .

I inserted the 2010 east coast DVD and got the reboot message, I'm on the west coast so it didn't show me on a map. I burnt the 2011 west coast DVD and never got the reboot message, but I'm visible on a map. Previosly I had the 2007 DVD installed. Since I didn't get a reboot message, does that mean it was never updated to 2011?

Ok, please pardon my igonorance on this, but I have a question. Since the maps are on two disks, what happens when I am doing a cross country trip start on west coast and end up on east coast. Do I use the east or west DVD? Do I have to pick a point inbetween and then put in a final destination once I'm at the half-way point?

The NAV will prompt you to switch disks

Just wanted to give another shout out to GenePoole. My download of the 2011.1 East and West ISOs completed last night and I burned the West one to a dual-layer DVD. Even though the burn errored during the "closing disc" procedure (twice) and I thought I had made a couple of coasters, the one I tried in the car actually worked. Got the reboot message, fired it back up and, voila, I was back in business.
Response time seems slower than with the original Navteq 2008.1 I was using, but I'm going to try burning to a single-layer disc today to see if performance will be improved. Thanks again! Putzo... |

Why are some of you burning to a DL disc? That was only necessary with the older DVD discs. Starting with 2010, the discs are now in pairs and each fits on a single layer disc.

Other then receiving the reboot message, is there no other way to confirm that the new 2011 maps are being read by the navi?

Other than that, you can be assured that iDrive is reading the disc if you don't get an error about it NOT reading it! |

I tried burning the 09 DVD a while back and it would only work intermittently. Hopefully I have better luck with these. Thanks to everyone for seeding!

Well, yeah: if it isn't reading the disk, it won't show a map. There is no storage on the CCC system so it must read maps from the disk in real-time.
