E92 black, powder coat alloys -new look

Hey again,

Deeply sorry for another question but i completely lost it.wanted to change only exhaust but once i made an order for bmw perfomance one i started to look for more things and already ordered missing eye tows , looking for a place to vinyl wrap my chrome trims into black and lastly i want to powder coat my alloys. Those are
Only 17' but i got good tyres there and changing both for new ones like 18' would be too much so i pass with it.

In attachment i am sending my car photo. As i said above my trims will be vinyl wrapped into black. Surely windows but grill too as this should be done alltogether. Without changing alloys amd tyres, do powder coating it into gloss black/matt black make sense? Maybe gunmetal? What you think guys, will it look good? Would be really interested in your votes and opinions. I will also have my calipers refurbished and painted into red/yellow. And surely will put all the photos when this things will be done.

Thanks in advance

Found some posts with a lot of poeple saying that best option might can be gunmetal or antrhacite, as gloss black on black will make tyres look smaller

A lot will say gunmetal, in my opinion oem rims are too classy for repainting
It's my sad conclusion, my situation is equal with yours, black car, black grills and trims, and i really don't know what color to choose for stock 18'' wheels.

If you got a solution, feel free to help me too :-))

Sure , will put photos once all is done. Will definately vinyl wrap windows trims , just still thinking if to do the same with grill or leave chrome there. Looks good with both though.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=835579

on 8th post guy made it gunmetal from black , looks much better , but question is will it look as good on my alloys .

Help guys, every opinion is welcome

Any help guys ? You got much more experience and knowledge to judge how the changes i want to make might look like , expecially with this alloys colour . I couldnt find any picture with it.

I got price for windows trim now , although it turned out that grill slates are chrome too so need to figure out if to wrap just surroundings or do the slates too ? I saw it look good but in the same time i am pretty sure i saw that those black grill kidney's cost like 50-100 GBP wich is about same as for wrapping . I couldnt find anywhere though those grills with all black and for e92. Thinking that doing just surroundings might be the best option and i would leave chrome slates. Sending one picture of it wich looks pretty cool

My 2 cents. You can plastidip or paint your original grills. When I bought my car 2 months ago. E92 328i it had grill and trim plastidipped. Grills looked good trim no so. And it's only like 8 dollars to get a matte black can. I changed to cf grill spoiler side mirrors and started to cf my interior. Wheels were stock 17" but looked too small. In black would just get lost in my opinion. Save up and get gunmetal or silver it's a nice classy contrast. Attached pics of car before and after. 2 months. Hope it helps decide.

Thx a lot M Porto for that photos , what size are your wheels ? , Think with Grill and Trims i will either do that or vinyl wrap but decision is made to that, Will be black or matt black, must see on the workshop how it might look. Surely will do windows trim and only surroundings on a grill , will leave chrome inserts.

I am fighting still with my wheels, as i got good tyres on . I know it would be much better with 18' but i would have to buy new tyres as well. Can anyone do photoshop or just give opinions on how my alloys would look like with gunmetal/matt black or that anthracite ? Know its not common but always like it all black , calipers red. And would like to go with one of this three colours (gloss back would surely make wheels smaller).

Main thing here is how would my alloys look with that colours. I send a photo on the first post. I simply cant figure it out myself and your all help would be so so much needed guys

One more photo of my car , and one photo of a guy who i think have similar alloys to mine. Looking more on it i think this alloys will look pretty good with dark colour , but i can also look for new 17's alloys and just keep my tyres but it would cost twice more

Mine are 19x9 and 19x10. Grill all blacked out would look best.

I would make my own thread about this, but I can't until I have made an initial post.

How do you know which grill to use? I see there are pre-facelift and facelift styles. Not sure how to tell which one I have. I like the gloss black ones and want to get one for myself.

Cheers and some good looking BMWs on this thread.

Any views on it ? Not typical ones, not its not genuine or same replicas , but look preety ok i believe , more massive than typical ones and on the last picture on ebay looks really good on car . Gunmetal should be fine with full black car too. Any experience/views on that ? Basically i decided i will go for new 18' this style wheels , and sell the old ones.

cmflores19 : I am not buying new grill as i prefer to leave chrome insters and just put the turnaround into black . Will use vinyl wrap for about 50 GBP for making it done. But just for turnaround. You can buy new one but it will be full black with insterts too , if you wait about 2 weeks i will make photos. But before doing it i have to pick and buy new wheels , then i will do the wrapping for trims and grill

I'm surprised it looks good. I'm not a fan of murdered all black. Specially wheels I feel like they get lost. But here they look good.

Yeah this one above look really good ! It looks like it got mine alloys too , bigger front than rear ? I would say in the back are my 17' but higher in front .

Saying that , with that bigger size it looks also much better so i would say going with new 18's than powder coating mine 17' would make more sense too. Have to figure right ones to buy now , so far those i gave above are leading i am just worried about quality but like them much more than the typica m6 style.

one more question guys , I noticed that there is a plastic(matt black colour) around mirrors area. When doing Windows Trim into gloss black should i also go and do that thing around side mirrors ?

I didint notice it earlier and when i saw it i thought that going into matt trims would be better but simply gloss looks much nicer and if i leave this area as it is, it might look bad overal . Got to confirm my appointment tomorrow so thx if anyone have any idea of what i am taking about
