Not really trying to make money, just trying to help out. If you live in the US and want a copy of either disc, I'll send you a copy for $10 (Covers Disc cost and shipping). If anyone thinks this is a douchebag move, I won't continue with it, I'm just trying to help out. PM me.

Are there any issues with running a burned DVD in the drive? I remember with my E46 M3, people were saying their drives started taking a crap after running a burned disc for a while. Anyone know of any issues with these drives?

Yes, will work for you 07 335i and any other BMW with the old DVD based iDrive system. Will not work on the new hard drive based iDrive from 09 and up.

I downloaded the West version from this link: http://www.fileserve.com/file/GznWYSZ (thanks georgeyklee and you guys). I used Roxio Easy Media Creator V10 to burn the disk.
My nav system was able to recognize the new disk but it had a super slow response when I tried to do something on the screen. Basically, the screen would freeze on me if I tried to go to the side menus and options. Is this normal to you guys? Thanks, |

When I make a copy I use Verbatim Digital Movie DVD-R. Have made 10 copies or so with NO issues at all.

I went to the dealer with a backup copy of the 2009 maps and they told me that it would corrupt my iDrive if i kept using it.

They are just telling you that because they want you to drop $200 on the OEM discs they sell. I have been using burned discs in my Nav since 2007 without any issues. The only issue, if you would even call it that, is I burned a bad copy once (burned it at too high of a speed) and it took a long time to pull up addresses when I was inputting them. Other than that you shouldn't have any issues.

No, the LCI iDrive cannot be installed w/o an FSC code, which is only active for48hrs anyway. Yo ucan copy/use the pre-LCI nav DVDs, but not so with MY2009+. No piracy in that case.
