what i meant was why does the tcu limit single turbo cars and not stock, rb turbo cars, if that makes sense.
and what happens if you hold the peddle down till 6500? auto shift?
I'm not aware of the single shifting any differently...

haha, it's just not that simple. Many TCUs provide an output to the ECU to retard the ignition timing, or reduce the fuel quantity, for a few milliseconds to reduce load on the transmission during heavy throttle. This allows automatic transmissions to shift smoothly even on engines with large amounts of torque which would otherwise result in a harder shift. So due to the fixed shift point, the engine can never make the same HP a manual will make because you can never hit 7000 rpm under full power.

i understand all of that. What I am saying are these single turbo AT guys manually shifting at 6500 or does the car auto shift at 6500?

How do you get your methanol injector flow to be 44? I can't seem to get mine much past 30-35.

That's not entirely true. I have dyno results of the single turbo 6at shifting at 6800rpm. However when transmission oil temps get high (as they would on a stationary dyno in a 100+F day, the shift initiates a few hundred rpm earlier.

Just curious, where did you get those numbers? I've been following most of the dynos, but I don't recall that.

Shiv posted an update yesterday. Creaminz made 597 on a dynapack. Not bad for an AT, eh?

On that note, creaminz just informed me that his car WON the dyno part of the Tuner Shootout outright with a solid 597whp run on Church Automotive's Dynapacks. It beat out all 12 other tuner car entries, which included a Renntech CLS63 and a supercharged E90 M3. Temps were 20 deg lower today then they were yesterday when creaming did a pre-dyno dyno session at EAS on their Dynojet (see first post).

Tomorrow is the roadcource portion of the test. All cars are equipped with a spec tire to even the playing field. Wish him good luck!

Cheers

Ah, no - not bad. I'm really hoping we can tune mine for E85 when it goes in soon.

I think that all that matters is that a BMW beat everyone else.

The single turbo cars use 4 mozzles and inject approximately 1300cc/min of meth. I'm guessing you have 2 nozzles which inject 800-900cc/min.
