Can I DIY foglamps by myself?

Hi,

My car will be delivered to me in next 3 weeks but in my package the car doesn't come with foglamps. I'd like to have foglamps installed in my car.

Any suggestions or tips? I'm not getting foglamps from my dealer cos it takes like a month to get them and it's very expensive ($400 per pair). I know where to get them cheaper but if I get them from somewhere else, my dealer will not install them for me.

Can I install the foglamps myself?

Thanks in advance

I haven't done it myself on an E90 yet, but it should be pretty straightforward. If you are comfortable with taking the front bumper off it should be no problem. Just plug and play i'd assume. Does your headlight switch have the switch for the foglights already there ? If it doesnt then you may have to buy a new headlight controle module... with the E46 people sometimes had to buy the new module because the factory would remove the foglight button on some of the less expensive versions of the car.

Hi Mark,

My car doesn't have the module with the foglamp switch either.

It seems that I should wait to have them installed in my car by dealers cos I'm not quite sure about my skill.

Thank you veyr much

400 installed, that isnt that much. Consider you need the 2 foglights, a new light control module, and light control module coding.

Dealer has to do it due to new light control module needing to be programmed for your car
