18's or 19's with Run flats

Hi guys I just picked up an e90 and it has crappy 16" wheels with run flats. I am wondering if anyone can comment if they know what it is like to go from that to a set of 18 or 19's with or without run flats.

Will there be a noticeable difference? If I'm going to go to the larger wheel should I get non run flats?

The best sort of run flats are non run flats. Worst fkn tyres you can have. They are heavy, too stiff and all round just a sht tyre.

Don't get runflats. You would just be paying double for the misery of harsh ride.

Personally I prefer 17" or 18" non-runflats. With larger rims you are basically compromising ride quality and the potential for wheel damage just for the sake of looks. However if you live in a place with good roads then its not as much of an issue.

Only reason I asked about the runflats is because I can get a set of 19's second hand with run flats on them for reasonably cheap.

I understand that they arent the best tyre, but going from run flats on 16's, to non-run flats on 18 or 19's will there be much difference?

But they allow you to drive around on punctured tyres! To me that is very important as i cant afford to replace tyres.

might be ok if you have a slow m3 but in a x35 you generally need the added traction, you know from the extra torque

I understand as a contractor money might be a little tight so have a look on the second hand forums for some slightly used rubber

Im a perm buddy. Long service leave coming up in 2 more years! Then we will see who is laughing

Anyway, that last 50kms that RFT allow you to drive could be the difference between sleeping on the couch with the dog or getting home on time and making the wife happy. So to me RFT are very important

Sorry, that was my wife. I didn't realise I was still logged in when she was using it. I am a little embarrassed to have the 3 series though, makes me feel like an old man who bought it just for the badge...

You know Paul as much of a drop kick that you are, I have that little bit more respect for you because you track your car.

You are now probably my most fav member on these forums in the 40+ years old category.......Richard is coming a very distant last behind IanF and Zuzu

I've been to the track too, surely that makes me as good as Paul?

Mate, she's married, why would she want to talk to someone who doesn't have anyone that actually wants to spend their life with them?

You know what they say, when you eat KFC all your life you start to crave McDonalds....

Anyway, why are you worried. I have no chance against a big shot like you right? Tell her not to be shy, I am fluent with google translate so I will be able to understand her.
