I just wanted to add 2 pics for future DIY'ers. The 1st is a pic of the encasing and the top clip. We didn't lift the car so we had to feel for it. We found the bottom one easily, visible in calvino's pics, but the top one was harder to find.

As for the 2nd pic, I ran into a prob where one of my rings looked less bright than the other side, and it was somewhat obvious when the headlights were off. Thanks to ///Matt's advice my bro and I were able to fix the problem Turns out that during the install we reached into the encasing and shifted one of the protrusions so when we installed the PIAA it wasn't getting all the light directly. We had to go back in and set the optical protrusion back in place, then everything was equally bright and light shone in properly.

1st pic = showing angel eyes cover, and top clip
2nd pic = after removing cover and stock bulb and lens, 2 protrusions for light source to shine into

I tried installing my PIAA and I had a hard time installing the 2 torx screws with the PIAA unit. It was not screwing right. Does the PIAA unit go inside the old OEM light adapter (with the lens removed)? I was installing it without the adapter. Please advice. Thanks.

Anybody interested?? We are thinking of bringing in 10 to 20 sets to test the market interest and sell on the forum. We tested and compared with PIAA and PIAA is totally out of story. Here are some pictures:

I see you are fairly new, this is not the thread for a post like this..there is a member here who offers the exact same product (mds82) and his product is called Lux. Very popular...doubt you could get into this market, but best of luck.. (plus the e92, is a completely different lighting system)

This is a DIY thread, and if you wanted to get anyone to see it you would post in the marketplace forum as its own thread. hardly anyone would see your post ... You also would need to get permission from the moderators before doing a large product sale.

Look Through these...

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40358

And he is about to start production of version 3. Here...

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56836

He provides specs and usually sells them around 150!

can someone list all the tools needed for this DIY? I'm also wondering if my toolkit has the correct torx sizes for this, I think I have T15 and T20. Thanks.

Installed mine this past Monday. I found it hard to get into the passanger side from top of car. Took of the right front fender, made it 10x easier.

did both in about hour.

Flathead screwdriver (pop out clip on housing)
Size 8mm socket
Size 10 mm socket
1/4 " drive wrench
$10 torx bit set from Kragen

think i used T15

http://www.partsamerica.com/productd...egoryCode=3405

Jack (cut a small block of wood to fit jack point)
Jack stands (safety)

how in the world did you guys access the passenger side angel eye container through the engine compartment, there's barely any space to even stick my arm down there to touch the container.

I installed the PIAAs on my car today -- could not have done it without this DIY -- thanks to all who contributed. Two comments: (1) I am disappointed in the lack of brightness, these are really no brighter than stock, just a different color. Had I known that, I probably would not have done this mod. (2) I love driving and looking at BMWs, but the Germans could sure learn from the Japanese in terms of common sense. I cannot believe you have to jack up the car, remove the wheel, and remove the wheel well liner -- just to change a light bulb. What rocket science engineer though of that? Must have been the same guy who designed the cup holders!

It is crazy how much work is involved to change bulbs. I just picked up the PIAA bulbs on cardomain.com. They were insanely cheap at just over $100 with free shipping:

Hey guys, i installed my PIAAs
2 questions though..

1. Is the PIAA Angel Eyes supposed to be pretty bright? Mines not bright at all, its almost like little lighter than stock and white.
2. One of my "halo's" seems to work half the time. What could be the problem? I checked today and everything was fine on the install, but after like 10 minutes of leaving my angel eyes on...one of the halo stops working. And after couple minutes of driving, it starts working again. So what could it be?

Help!?!

I seem to have the worst luck possible ...
I decided to install my piaa's today and here is how it went ...
I never jacked up my car before and had no idea what to do with the plastic thing where you would think you would need to jack it up ... So i used a hydrolic jack and busted the plastic piece off ... But who cares cause its under the car anyway ... I spend all the time to take off everything get down to the exchange which should go smoothly, the easiest part i would think ... When I put in the piaa and tightened the screws as far as they would go, there was still a quarter of an inch that would not tighten ... so after trying to force it ... i think i stripped the torx, gave up, and put the original one back on and wasted an hour and a half of my life ... now with all that being said ...

Is there something that Im not doing right, cause i looked everywhere and i seem to be the only person with this problem that the screws wont tighten all the way. I have a 2008 328xi if that has anything to do with it ... Please Help Me!!!
