The day I got my E90, I'm driving it around getting used to it, and I stop at my little sisters school to pick her up. As I'm getting out the car I see my old teacher from the 4th grade (total MILF) and she says "wow that color really brings out your eyes, nice car!" I thought it was really weird because my car is sparkling graphite... And my eyes are brown.

The first time that I was able to give one of my friends a ride in my new 3 series, he asked, "Don't you miss your F-150?".

I was ecstatic about the car, so this was a big letdown for me! I was so excited to be in a 3 series again, but I couldn't share the excitement at all with him!

I was being followed (tailgated) by an E92 335 around town one day. Just cruising around on the way to the grocery store and this guy would not give any room. I wasn't too bothered, but decided to give it a little gas when a traffic light turned green hoping this would either satisfy their curiosity or get the message across to back off. I pull into the grocery store parking lot and back into a spot kind of far away, and in a space directly across from me is that E92. Turns out the driver is someone I know from the community personally and professionally. He comes up to me now recognizing me and says "Sorry, I just wanted to hear the exhaust, I never get to listen to my own"

All I have done to the exhaust is the open flap, but his car is completely stock (N55). He likes to check in to see if I've done anything new performance wise to the car, and is dying to take a ride when I have E85 mixed in.

Hopefully people will start realizing BMW diesels actually exist when more 328d & 535d's (coming soon) get out on the streets in the next year or two. Can't say I hate the attention though.

LOL the other day some high school age girl was checking out my euro plates and carbon fiber in the parking lot when I strolled up and caught her off guard.

Her response:

"european cars are built so gorgeous the paint on the hood looks like it was knit out of metal. It's hawt"

I bit my tongue, the poor girl must have been 16. lol.

I haven't had my E90 long enough to get any weird compliments, but when I had my WRX, a old lady (probably around 65 or older) pulled up next to me and told me I had the "most beautiful Honda" she'd ever seen. I just said thank you and went about my business.

I was driving up to Wisconsin some number of years back from Indiana and it was my first time driving in northwest Indiana. My GPS, for whatever reason, took me off the interstate briefly through Gary.

I did that once. It was the first and last time I would ever find myself in Gary.

That crime-ridden city is no bueno. Every building I drove by looked really run-down or abandoned. Lots of junk on people's properties and plenty of boarded up windows. I had a friend whose uncle was jumped when he stopped to ask for directions. I do hope that the area sees improvement though. It's a shame to see what that area has become.
