It's just too bloody chilly in the mornings now so I have relented and am at the tire shop this morning putting on my winters.

DWS actually has good winter ratings for a all season tire. Its still not as good as a full on winter tire but had good reviews for stopping in cooler temparatures and on dusting of snow.

I don't go far from the city and the suburbs so A/S tires fit my driving patterns perfectly. I used to have a FWD and now with AWD and Conti DWS A/S tires, I think I'll be good.

With the forecast for this week I'm giving in. Anyone know of a good place to put them on in the King/ RH/ Aurora area to simply put on the winters (already on wheels).

My tires are in storage in that area, and I don't want to drive back downtown just to install.

I gave in already. Swapped over to winters on Friday. Didn't want to take a chance given that it was snowing in Markham on Thursday. Warming up now a bit...

Yup... mine are on as of last night as well.

QUESTION: What PSIs are you running on your winters? I have 225/45R17s all around non staggered. Should I just run what it says on the door step? 36 front 41 rear.

I run 33/41, but perhaps your car has different PSI values than mine (325i). I've found no issues running whatever the manual says, but you can always lower the rear a bit if it's too squirrely.

My car isn't really ready for winter yet. Been out of the country for more than a month.

I just realized that since I lowered the car this summer, my jack will not longer fit under.... Gonna have to get a rhino ramp... Damn

Just go to home depot and get some timber boards. Just drive over them and you'll have raised it up enough so you can get the jack under.

actually, I don't think you want to wait until it's that cold.
