I've had my cobb for a couple days now and I love this thing. Pulls so hard past 80 it's nuts. Can't wait for stage 2 so I can put downpipes on and make even more power.

Quick question though should I not use the aggressive map if I only have 91 octane available?

Some have used the aggressive map successfully with 91. However, it is recommended that you do some logs with the aggressive map and 91. I wouldn't risk running that without data showing that the car is happy.

Do all of your pins look ok for your CAN port? Everything good on the cable end?

yup, i fixed my bent pin on location numbered 6. before it did not even make contact and the AP could not communicate to the car. That was the only issue before but after i fixed it, everything else seems to work fine so i'm pretty sure there are no issues with my cable or obd port anymore. all my pins are good as well - i checked to make sure. is there somethign else we need to configure?

I guess i figure if i can see all the live data then i should be able to record it? because if i can see the live data then does that not mean my port and cables are working properly?

Nope your doing it right ! Looks like we might have a logging bug in that ROM revision. I just tested our car here and our ROM is working fine. Can you let me know what ROM revision your car is?

Thanks!

Hey Sops,
Got your PM and replied. The info you sent looks good and should be enough to get us going.

Thanks for your patience!

Cheers!

From Cobb's website / docs

Quote:
The Stage2 mapping is designed for vehicles equipped with high flow down pipes. Additional
performance can be obtained by fitting a cat back exhaust which replaces the restrictive factory mufflers
as well as an upgraded intake system (DCI, Panel filter or similar).

The Stage2+FMIC mapping is designed for vehicles equipped with an upgraded front mount
inter-cooler, full turbo back exhaust and an upgraded intake system. The COBB Stage2+FMIC mapping
was designed with optimized ignition, boost, and fuel targets for enhanced performance and
responsiveness for vehicles equipped with “FBO”.

Hey guys I skimmed though this whole thread and couldn't find what I was looking for. When switching maps on the AP it's not like the JB where you can do it on the fly right. You would have to pull over and it takes a couple minutes to witch between maps right?

To expand on the answer given to you a bit, here is why. The JB4 intercepts key sensors and adjusts readings between the ECU and the sensors accordingly. Since it is all handled by the Juice Box (JB), that is what allows you to adjust on the fly. It just tells the Juice Box, "Hey, start compensating and adjusting for this type of performance now, please."

The Cobb AP on the other hand, and almost any flash tune for that matter, actually goes into the ECU and tells the ECU, "Hey, I need you to perform at these levels, so adjust and compensate accordingly." Since you are dealing directly with the ECU the car has to be in certain modes to accept new instructions.

Sorry, didn't want to make that too long of an answer but I really like to know the why of things so here's to hoping it helps others out.

EDIT: If anyone sees/feels that I didn't word something incorrectly, please feel free to expand on/correct it. I am by no means a pro tech/tuner.
