Question for Gary and bbs wheel owners(vibrations)
Hi guys I currently own a set of bbs rgr wheels 19x8.5 +30 sqaure set up, I am running 235/35/19 up front with a 5mm spacer and 245/35/19 in rear with Ecs 12.5mm spacer. Tires are currently sunny sn3800 (came with the wheels) I plan on changing to nitto invo after winter but currently am wondering I get a slight vibration in my butt so from the rear it seems mostly when laying into the gas pedal or giving it some real power, this only happens at 80mph and above generally. Wondering if i need hub centric rings, it's the tires, or the spacers. The spacers are hubcentric so I don't believe this would cause the problem and it isn't a bent wheel as its only when laying into it at certain speeds. Reviews on the tires state vibrations but again only at higher speeds when giving it power... Any thoughts? It's hard to tackle this problem being that it could be a few variables! Appreciate the help as always!

You can start to diagnose the problems by removing some variables. I would install them without the spacers in the rear, and see if the vibrations persist, or if they disappear. I have seen some cases where certain sized spacers aren't compatible with some wheels due to the hub lip design, and as a result, it doesn't allow for the wheel to sit completely straight against it.

Having vibration data with 5mm will frame your spacer issue a bit (in the back).

My guess is that the spacer was not compatible with the chamfer on the wheels. If you go with slightly larger spacers, they will have a flatter mounting surface, without the beveled edge.

So your recommending going with a 15mm say instead of a 10mm?

Well, not necessarily. If you have the room to go up in size, than that should fix your problem. If you don't have the room, then that is not really a fix, as you may end up rubbing on the fenders.
As long as the spacers don't have a step in them like that, they'll probably work with your wheels.

Before buying too may new parts, if you plan on changing tires in the spring, do that first and then revisit the vibration issue. I didn't recognize your tire brand, and now with what you indicated, I'd suspect it may be a tire issue more than spacers. Getting a more mainstream tire (like Nitto and many others), properly balanced, could resolve your issue without buying more spacers.

This is just a generic picture I pulled up off of Google, but if you compare the area on these (right where the lip is) to the ones you have, you'll notice the difference. It comes down to the design of the spacer. Spacers like the ones above can be, and generally are, hubcentric. If you want to change up the brand of spacer, just check the vendor classifieds, or contact ECS Tuning to see if they have any recommendations. Maybe going down to something like an 7mm spacer would be better for you, as it should leave some of the factory hub exposed. That way your wheels can sit centered on them.
