just put lux 8 in

stupid bmw.
i owned e92 for few years now and swapped out angle eyes few times but every time i do it, it left me with cut and scratches on my hand because of tight spot with closed housing from the top. these german fawkers (excuse my language) really failed on designing these headlights. i mean, to replace angel eye bulbs, it takes anywhere between 15 minutes to hours and to replace D1S, it takes literally hours and yet some of them can't even do it at home... how fawking stupid is that...

i'm sorry. i tried to put these thing into that tight spot for last hour or so and by the time i got it in, my hand is tired, soar and left with lots of cut and scratches so i had to vent...

with that being said, here's pictures of it after.
i had RD that had purplish blue, and to be honest, i kinda like RD better tha lux 8 but lux 8 is much brighter and is the newest shizzle for angel eye department so i had to have it.

p.s. excuse my headlights being dirty. that's from the track and i haven't washed yet... lazy i know...

Lookin' good! Definitely a great upgrade for angels.

Question... I know you mentioned changing out D1S bulbs, any error or problems after the swap?

no. only problem i get is that it is bit dimmer than stock when it comes down to visibility but the unique-ness in color makes up for it more than enough for my liking...

try lux 8 and report back. it has big bulky chunk at the end which makes it 100x times harder than gp thunders.

gp thunders, easiest
rd leds, i swear during install 1st time
camaross hid, i bitch about it for days
lux 8 i even made a thread about it... i don't have SMALL asian hands but i'm not 6 ft neither...

Lol yea the GP Thunders are pretty easy...although the teeth on the bulbs are a bit thick and I have had 2 instances when I was selling these where the bulb would be aligned but wouldn't turn in...stock bulb went in fine.

The install for the LUX took me about 2 hours...it would have taken 1 hour but I decided it would be a good idea to take off the tire and tire well to get at the rear headlight cover only to realize that the little hatch only gives you access to the HID bulbs... ugh...

And I have big German hands lmao

I had the same trouble with the LUX as well, especially the passenger side.
GP Thunders are much easier to install but don't look quite as nice

the trick with the lux h8's is to get a pair of plumbers pliers to grip the heat sink's with and then you have mad leverage to push them into place and twist to lock. takes 10 seconds to do.

Too bad it took me 3 cuts and 45 minutes to come up with that brilliant idea though....

Coordination in the hands is the key to install. My friend plays guitar, he got them in for me in 10 seconds each side, while I couldnt do either in 45minutes. He even did them both twice because I didnt believe him hahaha
