play in the steering wheel!!!!

Hi guys, I am running out of options and i need some help. I`ll give you the rundown, 2007 e92 yellow konis tien stech springs, recently upgraded the control arms/tension/thrust arms everything with the TRW Kit from ECS tuning. Now i had a little knock that i could hear when i wiggle the steering wheel from straight to left and right by couple of inches(knock that i could deal with) after the upgrade which i torque everything under load i have a louder knock which i figure this i jacked the right side of the car and grabbed the wheel at 3 and 9 o`clock and the knock was very loud, next i removed the boot from the inner tie rod and i saw that the noise coming from the part that the inner tie rod screws on looks like the is play side to side on that shaft(steering rack i assume its called).another thing i noticed is that my car is been making a lot of tire noise on the highway and when i take wide left turns on the high way the noise becomes louder so i am thinking wheel bearing.so my question is could wheel bearing make the rack to show play?

You said you noticed play at the tie rod where it mates to the rack. Either the new tie rod is bad or it was installed incorrectly based on what you described. Only other thought is the rack itself could be bad, and the reason the knock is more prominent now is that you have new "tighter" components installed, thus reducing any "dampening" effect some looser older components may have had

How can the inner tie Rod be installed incorrectly give me some pointers to double check ? And also if it was the rack wouldn't that do the knock sound on the left side as well since the rack goes all across?
