Never used this - never wanted it - seems kind of pointless when the volume button is right where it's supposed to be on the steering wheel (on the left side so you can adjust it while shifting your proper MT as you approach/depart intersections). I'm perfectly capable of adjusting my own volume and wiper intermittent speed... although the latter power seems to have been taken away :/

This way when I approach my house, I open the garage door and can survey the entire area before backing up.
Honest-to-God true story: What inspired me to back into parking spaces was because growing up, my family was in a townhouse complex and I parked in a niche between 2 houses (see below; keep in mind that this was 2005 and phone cameras were only VGA [0.3MP], so excuse the quality)...

...But one afternoon, I was going to run some errands, and some kids were in the courtyard playing. But somewhere in the minute between popping in a CD (again, 2005), starting it, and shifting into reverse, a 3 year-old decided to sit down behind my car... Before I can even release the brakes for more than a split second, I heard a loud scream, followed by his mom swooping him up from the dead center of my car. If I didn't stop, that little kid probably would've been ran over. On a sidenote, I also didn't have to account for the gas meter (behind metal post) and park against the wall and open the door wider.

Since I was a kid my parents always taught me to never spend any time in front of or behind a vehicle, moving or not unless absolutely necessary (which is...never?)

True, so true. ..... But I bet our parents said the same about us.
I wonder how many steps / generations back, would each say the exact same things about their kids. <g>

and that is why they invented PDC and back up cameras lol, and now we have PDC with object recognition to make sure it will recognize if it is the human behind or in front of the vehicle.

All of them, literally every last one. This line of logic is so myopic it hurts.

You can always let them try~my mom used to tell me the a boiling pot is hot and I would not believe it. And she will just let me touch it quickly. I'll get a quick burn but I'll realize that what she said is true. A lot of the time it is important to make mistakes and suffer minor consequence for the sake of learning.

If you have iDrive, this feature is still present in your vehicle under settings. It actually has a timer on it, so you can schedule it to run during certain hours. It's pretty neat feature.

Not sure if this is mentioned, but the fog lights are absolutely useless!

This was my first time driving the E90 in heavier fog, and even with the OEM HIDs and DRL off, I was only able to see about 2-3 feet when my Solara actually made a difference and complemented the low beams for quite a distance...

... But, then again I haven't checked the aim of the E90's fog light, and I've used Halo 3000k yellow bulbs, but even a new Camry's OEM fogs projected further!

If you have Comfort Access and wash your car it will lock and unlock whenever water touches the handle. If you put the key in the keyhole the car stays unlocked!

Took me a few week to figure out !

Cruise control will brake for you... say you have it set for 63mph (actual speed of 60) on county roads, and approach a small town with a 35mph speed limit. Flick the cruise control toward you 5 times, past the resistance point to knock it down to 40mph (37-38mph actual), it will put the brakes on for you, dropping your speed quickly and smoothly.

Only if the car is equipped with this option.

In cruise control, you can clutch in and it will hold speed. They do this so you can downshift. The cool part is when you go back to 6th, it rev matches for you. Only 6th though.

You're using dumb, useless, and obnoxious bulbs and comparing the car to others on separate occasions?

My sonos system sounds like shit and is a pain in the ass to connect to. But then again, I'm actually using a jambox and not sonos at all, so it could be that.

You can even press and hold it past the 2nd detent and it'll brake gradually for you as well.

I installed it when I was 19 for that "Lexus IS" look... It was kind of a fresh-outta-high-school-wannabe-customization, but it got the job done, not to mention it was actually practical for the occasional Californian thick, world-record-at-the-time-216-accident-causing grade of fog regardless, so I kept them.

Not an E90 and not mine, but I was parked across from an F80 and noticed that the M logo in the seat lit up when the car was disarmed... THAT IS FRICKIN' SICK! Does the E9X M3 do that?
