Make sure you give the car some beans on the way there - its amazing the difference it can make if the cars 'adapted'.
After tootling along to the dyno car made 380 bhp first run. ... 2nd run it made 401. |

Prob a rubbish driver. I've kept up with an E92 M3 before in my 46.

IMO - Very dependant on what speeds you running at or to.
0-100 very close i would say. Money on the modded 335i 100 and over the M3 and if it was rolling anything above 60MPH my money is on the M3 Whats the old adage there is no replacement for displacement? Very interested in the actual results though. |

I have done over 50 runs against an e92 m3 on a closed road of course
From 50 roll the 335i had it every time to 150 From 70 the 335i would still have it but the gap would be closer From 100 the 335i would still have it but the cars would do a weird thing where the m3 would close at 100 then I would be pulling away by 115 then the m3 would start gaining by about 140. I guess that's where the displacement comes in. The gearing plays a big difference above 100. The ratios on the m3 are a lot better. I haven't raced from a standing start ever |

Very close up to 100mph the 335i would be around half a car length in front on a quarter mile, very shortly after its left for dust. The way the M3 gets from 100mph to 155mph is astonishing! |

M3 can be overtaken at any kind of speed if the 335i has the right mods done. If you have the JB4 and thats it, you will not stand a chance in every possible way.
Here is a video with E92 M3 MT and E92 335i MT : Here is a lad messing with Audi R8 at around 300km/h lol : Hope you will win with your friend's M3, and make some video !

well latest is we wait until the weather warms up, happy with that because im leaking boost and gives me a chance to fix it [ plus will have the Borla exhaust by then]
Think it will be closer than i first thought and have a sneaky suspicion he will be modding before we race. Quite how far im not sure.

You need to win the fight mate ! You have some time to fix and mod the car. How much power do you have at the moment ? You could get a nice FMIC, this would give around 10HP more. Go catless and defo put some headers in there. Then I can bet £100 on you

Only reason 380-400HP 335i's appear quicker is their massive accessible performance, due to the torque. If the M3 driver is a (queer) to phrase sparky then the 335i will beat it quite easy. If peddled properly (yeah that's right, some people can't even do it in a straight line properly) then 414HP will shine through!
