"Tried to kill myself"

My car started to make this abnormal noise several weeks ago. The noise occured more frequently when I sped up and disappeared when it came to complete stop. I was thinking maybe it's time to purchase the extended warranty and just dealer it. Fortunately, I didn't waste my money on that but this is what I found.

The inner edge of the tire was completely bald and the metal belt inside was rubbing the ground. The guy at Discount Tire told me I must be trying to kill myself by driving with this tire condition.

Guys! Check your tires regularly and don't do something stupid like I did.

Yea how does that happen? Seems like your supposes to have at least a bit left on your tire (judging from the outer tread area)

too much negative camber I guess.
Yup, last alignment was done at firestone. I'm going to raise my car up a little bit and see if I can get more positive camber.

Wait, you get lifetime alignment at Firestone?

So are they trustworthy? It is because of bad alignment that that happened to your tire George? Or just too much - camber?

Glad you caught it before something else happened........

I think the V5 has more low end power compare to the V4, but it's not as punchy as the V4 from 3500 rpm to 5000 rpm. Maybe the power delivery is so smooth.

not because of bad alignment I think. I have been running the Bridgestone RE960AS for three years and I think it is time for them to retire.

hm... maybe i should take a shotgun to see the difference. i got lost where shiv start using cruise control stalk to control million more things, not to mention you have to pay to get stuck with your own vin numbers or something... am i missing something here? oops sorry for getting out of topic...

If you had a different brand on the rear versus front, could cause problems too

you don't have to pay to get stuck with your VIN but you pay when you try to unlock it. Which basically means you don't have to pay anything to upgrade to V5, but once you sell the Procede and the new owner try to run the V5 maps, it costs $150 to unlock it.

i guess my question is... is it really worth it? performance gains and changes from v4 to v5 doesn't look ground breaking like from v3 to v4, it's rather much more misc controls that i don't really need... i guess i gotta take a shotgun on your car to see someday...

I think V5 is just more unique. I don't know about performance gains since weather has been terrible.
