heres a bad pic of the height of my car

And since you have CF touches you can pull off gunmetal. You'll want to paint all of the cf pieces black if you do black wheels. Just more cost.

sometimes, when i see pics of silver cars and black black wheels, like the one you posted of the one next to the mustang... it looks like the car is just floating, only showing the outline of that silver car. you know? And which beautiful wheels such as the VMR you wanna show that baby!

I think everyone already suggests the GMetal, just do it dude! or try it with plastidip and clear coat. safest way to see if you like.

Wish you the best outcome OP!

lol i think black does a better job of making things look smaller.

you think women and men wear BLACK clothes for the style only? lol nope, it helps make things look slimmer/smaller than it is.

just go gunmetal already! - from the people who viewed this thread :P

Gunmetal looks way better. Go with gloss black if you're going to pick black though.

Gunmetal or Dark Gunmetal. Absolutely.

The problem with black rims is that they absorb all light, making them disappear. A TV prop-maker's trick is to a paint a prop that is supposed to look like "black metal" a dark grey instead of actually black. The grey will photograph as "black" but still be reflective enough that you can see the detail. Since rims are "supposed" to be Hyper Silver (metallic) from the factory, by going to gunmetal grey, you are retaining the reflective character that the rims are "supposed" to have. Glossy or flat black eliminates that. That's why I think that all-black rims look out of place on a car. YMMV.

PS - Love these VMR rims on this car. If I weren't so cheap.... ooof. I'd have some too!

OP, I think personally I'm more of a fan of gunmetal. Reason being that it still adds contrast in your case, but you don't lose out on any details on the wheels. That being said, I've seen plenty of people run matte black wheels and have their cars come out great. Another option is custom powder coating, so if you wanted a textured black, gloss black, etc. we can do it! Ultimately it's up to you!

definitely go for gunmetal. Personally I'm just not a fan of black wheels. If you have the always clean than they look good but once they are dirty they look like steelies from a far.

I just ordered my V710 today also! I was debating between hyper silver or gun metal and ended up going with gun metal in 18 ". My car is AW and i think the gunmetal will be just enough contrast to stand out.

The rims were $950.00 and the tires were $1200 for Bridgestone RE960 RFT, plus taxes. I'm sure you got them cheaper than us in Canada. It's going to take about 10 days to get the rims.

Very good explanation. That's how I see it but didn't know how to explain it.
