Purchasing an Aquamist HFS-3 kit.....

So Ive taken the plunge to get a meth kit. I didnt want to go all the way and get thr HFS-4 kit which at this point I probably should have. Just didnt want to spend as much money as Im even spending on the HFS-3 kit. But figured its one of the best on the market so why skimp. But Now that I think about it, what else do I need to have this installed? Im looking and it seems as if it comes with no tanks, I may need a charge pipe? But not sure. What else would I need to complete this kit to have it installed? Im thinking I got myself into much more money then Ive wanted to spend. Im sure I wont be complaining after its installed, but Im sorry for complaining now lol. What are my options here? can stock charge pipe be used?

You need a $30 3-quart methanol tank and that's it.

By the way, the HFS-3 will work ok (I used it without problems), but you do need to make some adjustments by shorting out a resistor on the control board, in order to permit you to trigger the methanol injection at a lower injection duty cycle (ask Jeff Howerton).

Where can I purchase the $30 3 quart methanol tank you are speaking of? Why does something need to be shorted out for a lower injection duty cycle? I am getting a pro tune from a company that has COBB access pro softwear. Do I still need meth injection at a lower injection duty cycle when everything will be calibrated with the tune?

Yes you do need spraying from a lower injector duty cycle. Also get 2x1.2mm jets, not 2x<lower diameter> jets.

If you ask Jeff Howeton, he will include all that is needed.

2x1.2mm seems excessive. 2x1.0mm was already making me lose power in 1st and 2nd from too much flow.

A few guys with RBs are running 1x1.0mm and 1x0.7mm jets.

I get timing pulls on GIAC Stage 2 Race with 2x1.0mm and 93 octane fuel in progressive mode. When I swith to on-off mode (flow increases by 50%) there are no timing pulls.

I spoke directly to the Aquamist representatives. You can substract flow if you want, but if you use a 50/50 meth/water concentration you will need 2x1.2. Yes, with 80/20 you can use 2x1 or 2x0.7 but not with 50/50.

Also, Cobb has a test car with 3 nozzles of 1.0mm...

I dont know much about the size of the nozzles so I figured the shop would figure that out. Also as far as the tank goes, I contacted the install shop and they said they could use the windshield washer resevoir. Is that possible with the aquamist kit or is that only something offered by either PROcede or BMS?

What? Catch on fire, really? How or why would that happen? Doesnt one of the other meth kits for either Procede or BMS use the window washer resevoir for meth? Wow I dont want to chance a fire. How do other kits allow the use of the window washer resevoir but not aquamist?

Yes and it looks like about every week or 2 another thread is created with a car fire.

The WW reservoir kits are a disaster. I've seen those cars flame up first hand.

Get a trunk kit.
You can get an ER charge pipe through me with custom aquamist bungs.

You can also get a tank from me if you so inclined as well.

All of this stuff is on my site 24/7

BMW>E90>Methanol injection
BMW > E90> Charge pipes

Aquamist uses a 4mm hose which I dont have so that is the only thing you may need to source yourself along with a tank tap with 4MM.

Yes, the Vishnu CP uses Aquamist bungs. The Vishnu PWM uses Aquamist hardware.

Thank you for the info. I have been on your site looking at numerous meth kits and parts associated with the kits. THanks for your help. I havent yet bought the kit so I may purchase that from you also. Just waiting to hear from the install shop about the situation as a whole. They are the ones that recommended the WW resevoir as the meth tank. So I need to think about that. What is the cause of these fires when using the WW tank? And is there any preventative measure?
