CP-e Inter/oil cooler

Anyone running a CP-e intercooler/oil cooler combo in the UK?

Any experiences or better choices??

I have an OEM oil cooler and see that evolve stage 4 is with oil cooler so thought CP-e may be a good option...

I've looked at this on the BMS website, looks a nice bit of kit, good price too with the oild cooler.
It seems to only be availale for pre LCI cars though, 2007-2008.

The AMS intercooler which I'm sort of planning to get, is available in two versions, pre and post LCI, so there must be some differences?

The AR design oil cooler is very good, but pricey.

That is good to know. I'm post lci.. Would be ordering from USA so could be a costly mistake on return shipping.. Is there much benefit to additional oil cooler given low ambient temps in uk - I won't be doing much more than road and rare track days.. I know that the forge intercoolers fit well as used by evolve..

Sorry carlos, i meant datewise 2007-2008 and 2009-2010 for all models, rather than LCI per say, which was 2008 for e90 and e91 only as you say.

OP - the AMS intercoolers fit well too, and TBH seem a better design and are technically superior to the forge unit.

They're cheaper too if you don't get collared for too many import taxes.

Re the oil cooler, even standard on a track day the oil soon reaches 140 and you have to back off befor limp mode at 146deg.

So mapped it will get hotter more quickly, if you want to enjoy a track day fully you'll need an oil cooler, bit for me i'll just come in for a coffee and save the dosh!

Yeah, thats the reason why I'm tempted by the CP-e because you get the oil/inter cooler combo for the same price as just an intercooler. I am looking at £590 shipped for the combo..

As mentionned I won't be pushing the car, but I always like to over engineer something. I'd hate to fit an intercooler and then buy a seperate oil cooler at a later date for an additional $1000

I need to find out definitively whether the CP-e will fit lci m sport models. Is there any difference for RHD cars as I guess there are plenty of guys in the US running this mod..

Cheers for your input guys..

I had no issues with excess oil temps on track last year.
Mine is early EU car with the oem cooler.

I'll second that - I'm very pleased with the AMS unit. Great design, price, fit and flow, very difficult to beat imo.

6 hr fitting for CP-e combo is putting me off..

Ok where to buy AMS intercooler? List is $899.

I can get CP-e for $799 plus shipping from Group Buy with AR Design, anything similar for AMS?

I purchased the AMS unit from http://www.burgertuning.com/upgrades.html

I find their shipping costs very competitive - this would help offset some of the CPe group buy saving.

That AR / CPe group buy is a real bargain though.

N54 tuning quoted, $865 plus $127 shipping for AMS FMIC. but wont fit LCI models - LCI ones are another $55.

Just waiting to hear from AR Design as to whether it'll fit or not...

Its very weather dependant.

A cool February day at Oulton park last year was fine with no more than 130degC showing all day.

But a 25deg+ sunny day at Donnington had the oil temp to 140degC after a just a couple of laps, having to back off till it dropped then carry on.

That was standard too, pre-JB3.
