Alpina B3 Transmission Coding
Hey guys,
I want to get the Alpina Tranny flash for my E92 but don't know the first thing about coding and all that, so I looked into getting it done at a shop. A little too expensive IMO so if anyone around Melbourne or Sydney (only goiing to be up for a few days after the 15th) can do it for a little less of a fee and a few drinks or something that would be helpful! Also wanted to code the digital speed into the dash. If not I'll probably just get it done at the shop anyway, but just seeing if there're any other options out there I'm sure the shop if very friendly and will do a quality job, just trying to save a few bucks here and there. Thanks

You can do some reading here and other forums about the flash I was the first person in Australia to have the software code and flashed my own car.

I'm not local unfortunately. I just have netbook that I can ship there with the cable or I have to fly there .
I've only done 2 335i in Perth including my old car. PS: I don't ask for fees.

Got it done at Active a few days ago and I must say, its pretty damn epic. Shifts are much quicker now and the downshifts rev match perfectly.
Steven at Active said for the 1st week I might get some weird things happening with the transmission until the car learns my driving style again. Haven't really noticed anything yet. D mode just chases the high gears as quick as possible. I rarely drive in D and it would be useful if I'm trying to save fuel. The shifts are quicker than stock but not as quick as in S or M. S mode (was DS mode before Alpina flash) can't really comment as I always drive either M and sometimes in D. M mode. This is where it shines the brightest. Shifts are pretty damn quick (coming from a IS250 with 6 speed AT) and that thing slurred the gears like crazy. The stock transmission of the 335 was light years ahead of the IS250's but still could be a little faster (after driving some DSG cars). The easiest way I can compare it is with the new 8 speed auto's in the F30's and what not. To me the shifts feel pretty much as fast as it was when I test drove the F30 328. Not as quick as as DCT but quick enough. and the rev matching is just perfect now. If you drive in D mostly and don't use DS or M that often I don't think this would be the mod for you, but if you're like me and drive nearly exclusively in M then get this done! All in all, really happy with it and it makes driving the car just that little bit more enjoyable.

I'm glad you like the shifts that's how it should be when it left the factory, love the shifting in M mode as I drive all the time in M, never drive the car in D mode only my wife does. Especially when the car is tuned.
