I like how the thread is turning into a "how to protect your bumper underside" thread; good stuff. How come there isn't a metal skid plate out there for our cars that I see other cars have. Are there any cons to it, aside from the obvious weight increase (which isn't a real problem for a daily driver).

The real point is, would you RATHER look at a scratched up piece of metal or a scratched up piece of plastic?

I just live with it even though im super anal about everything on my car. It's out of sight and out of mind most of the time.
