I've had my 335is for about 2 months... I love it. I want to do some light mods to it but just don't want to do anything crazy.. Any advice? Looking for a good shop in the westchester/ny area! And maybe even a couple meetup/rides.. I never see any 335is by me!! I love being unique

DCT makes clunking sound when shifting into reverse

My car is a 2012 with only 6k on the odometer. I've never tracked or driven the car hard. I read over in the M3 forum that some have had this problem and that a software update resolves the problem. Anyone else have any info?

you can do a AFE stage 2 intake mod and hear your turbos spool more. OR do the golf tee mod. youtube has tons of instructions on how to do so.

you can change all your yellow interior lights to LED if you want as well as your exterior turn signals.

you can get a BMW performance rear spoiler in carbon fiber.

But you SHOULD get downpipes (VRSF or AR) and a tune when you want more power. Some choose a front mount inter cooler (FMIC) but most go with the downpipes and tune (jb4 or cobb).

I don't have any yellow lights in my interior. They are all amber and LED. Maybe the glovebox?

And, I don't believe I have any turn signals that are incandescent either. I rarely use my blinker.
The ones on the front are LED built into the headlight. Same with the back - built into the taillight.

The only other I can think of is the side marker. But, I believe that is an LED on the 335is as well.

lol, my apologies, i meant the amber lights for the cabin for each passenger and the button to turn on all the lights and also the footwell and the side blinkers and door puddle lights. they are all the same bulbs. I swapped them out with a T-10 LED. for the passenger and front footwell lights. the rear footwell lights are a festoon type bulb. and the middle two lights are a path of LEDS that need a bit of work, all able to be found on the DIY section for LED e-92. Patrick, for us however, you and I need to go about the middle light a bit differently than the coupes.

yes the 3 amber LED built-in the headlight is not what im talking about haha, sadly nobody has gotten them coded out, the wiring itself needs to be cut . i always have mixed feelings about those lights.. sometimes i like them sometimes i dont.

I highly recommend you search around your area for a good dealership that has a mod friendly service advisor. Build rapport with him and comfortably take your car to him. This can be done by searching on the NY regional threads

The downpipes most definitely due to the fact that it is aftermarket and has no catalytic converters.

This is a hard question.. some will say yes and some no. Some of my friends are under warranty so they wont mess with anything aftermarket or too obvious.

Some who are still under warranty have either said F-that im gonna do it anyway OR have found a mod friendly service advisor.

The option is yours, and the choices you make as a knowledgeable and informed adult

(disclaimer - please dont come after me and say you said it was all right and i'd be okay modding my car!)

Depends on the dealer, if they can attribute an error to the change, they will do so. Most have no issues with cold air intake, but I think you will have issues with down pipes. I think they throw out error codes from the jump. But I installed a cold air intake and had no issues dealing with warranty maintenance for the past few years.

For those of you lowered on aftermarket springs, what do you recommend? I was planning on going with the Eibach Pro-kits but not sure if the drop is enough. But I don't want the slammed look either. I'm on stock 225M 19's

Didn't consider lowering perches. How would they pair with the oem springs?

Hmmm, not sure if 0.5 drop in the front would be enough.

This is somewhat a known issue, actually I have pinpointed where its coming from, which is the gear shaft inthe DC. There is actually some play in the bearing and gear assembly to the differential.

Those of you that like to use the factory launch control expecially those of your that are tuned, this is our weak point in the drivetrain

If you start to hear a clacking sounds on hard accelerations, like a gear skiping, or your car starts to vibrate out of the ordinary then your driveshaft is failing and will break eventually. Im on my 4th driveshaft, now getting a CF driveshaft

from what i've been noticing no issues with stock susp. but i cant speak from experience, sorry!

also from experience and observation... aren't NY and Jersey roads really bad..? Dark knight with the e93 write about all the times he avoids or slams over the pot holes in the tri-state area.

I've read other threads about people using the stock suspension with the perch. It's a very subtle drop. I also considered H&R Sport but it looks too slammed. Yeah he seems to have horrible luck but the roads indeed are bad which is why I don't want it slammed. I drive super carefully though. I'm planning to get a front splitter so I wanna minimize scraping.

In that case, only way to try is to get whatever you think will be more significant in the long run. Get springs first and if thats not enough get the perches. getting the perches and then finding that its not enough for you will be a PITA. so i recommend getting eibachs first.

But if I got Eibachs, I would need to upgrade shocks. The perch is $70. Decisions decisions.

true... thats why most with $ just forgo the decision and just pick a coilover system. I was a click away for some kw v2's... but... my S/O snapped me out of it hahaha

honestly, the handling is what really makes these cars so enjoyable, so if i had the cash and really consider keeping the car for another 4-6 years. i would just get the coilovers.

Does anyone know the part number for the OEM BMW performance carbon fiber rear deck lid that fits the E92 335 IS? I have one on my car and it was damaged by a car shipper and I need to make sure that the repair place gets the correct part.
