How to fit a 335i exhaust on a 328i

I've searched and searched for hours on this forum and google, got some good info but still didn't get a solid answer..

does anyone know exactly what is needed? I have a 335i muffler lying around from my old 335i i want to put on my 328i, or if it's not too complicated i'm thinking about getting a oem 335i exhaust /muffler and just putting that one, the unbalanced piping look at the rear looks horrible.

from what I read it seems like a lot of people were saying that you need to "cut into the trunk storage?" what does that mean exactly? does anyone have a picture that shows/compares the two different car's undercarriage?

thanks

Look for the thread I want an M3 exhaust. Some posted some pics is that they did to they're 328i and mentioned something about replacing the trunk storage bin and could be costly. I agree with you, I'd like to put an M3 exhaust on my E93 but don't want to cut into my trunk. Replacing the storage bin would be the way to go but who knows how much that will cost in the end. Hope this helps.

I would personally go with the Ltmw vanguard setup however it does pose smog issues seeing as how the cats are gone.

Show your exhaust shop this. 2 things complicating a 335 exhaust
1. Storage bin needs to be changed to 335 (easy bolt on)
2. Relocating fuel evap canister whatever it is

N52 will not have the same exhaust sound as an n54, better off with aesthetics to be as close to the 335 look

Yeah, Shop didn't care because the owner was a track racer. "I only care that the primaries are on. Other than that you're alright"

I was like see you again in 2 years.

Damn I'll need to see him also if I ever get a car delete. But back in topic I hear many people have problems relocating the evap canister and as for the trim updates to the rear, LT just replaced them with 335 parts.

Garage List
I'm guessing from your post that you want to install the dual 335i exhaust setup on your 328i that currently has single side exhaust?

If so, here is setup that is FS that would be perfect for you:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...hlight=exhaust

Includes almost everything you'll need:
  • Correct Midpipes all the way from primary cats to mufflers including secondary cats (will need welding - no problem)
  • Both mufflers/tailpipes,
  • Correct exhaust shielding that you will need to swap over
  • Correct 335 Trunk Bin that you will need to swap over
  • Correct Dual Diffuser

You will still need to relocate your Evap Components (there are threads that show this upon Search)

And according to the OP -
(3) exhaust hangers for the right side
(2) small plastic splash shields (left and right side, goes between the heat shields and the bumper)

I suppose since you already have the 335i exhaust, this would not be a less expensive alternative.

The exhaust tips are in a different location than 335s
