I would like to start a caravan from Tysons 2 Galleria to Hunt Valley Cars and Coffee. Planning broke down with the CP Ikea group as they are now leaving Ikea at 7:30 AM. I would like to meet at Tysons in the front where the Cheesecake factory and Maggianos are at 6:50 AM and leave by 7:20 am sharp to meet the folks in Hunt Valley.

UPDATE::: We are going to meetup with the Hunt Valley Cars and Coffee group to roll up to Bimmerfest. They are leaving at 9 am sharp. We should leave Tysons by no later then 7:20 as it takes a good 1 hour and 15 minutes to and hour and a half to get to Hunt Valley.
RSVP'd Yes: 24 RSVP'd Maybe: 6
RSVP sign-ups for this event are now closed.

Thanks.

I guess for those of us stuck in the middle in Montgomery County it probably makes the most sense to go straight to Hunt Valley.

Pretty weak "cruise"... cruise != tearing off at 100mph and splitting up.

Ha! really! that's how shit went down!? what's the point of calling it a "cruise." There's power in numbers, should've stayed together! Now I don't feel so bad that I didn't get to go.
I'm waiting for people to post 'em nice pics from bimmerfest so I can seeeeeee ;-)

The cruise was a fun time and meeting a new group was definitely worthy. Pat did a great job of leading the DC metro group to Hunt Valley. The group remained together for Shawan, I-83 and I-695. The traffic greatly increased on I-95 and the group broke into packs.

If there was speeding, the onus is on the individual(s). Personally, after I stopped at the 695/95 junction to get the drive-by video, traffic was heavy enough to not merit catching up. On I-95, many mixed with others driving to the Aberdeen. We have a group that spans generations. 'Kids will be kids'. No worries, parents - and even most of the 'kids' - understand. All in all, it was a good time.

100 mph? LOL. I don't know about the group that you were with (that came from va), but I was in the group that met up at ikea in cp and went to white marsh, then to aberdeen. Both times when we departed and entered the highway, the problem was that people weren't going fast enough. The general speed that everyone was supposed to drive was 70-75, but I had to slow down to 50 just to get some decent shots of cars because people were going so slow. (I was one of the camera cars). The only time I saw anyone "tearing off" was when a silver turbo e36 m3 raced a guy on a motorcycle.

Hrrmmm... case in point. You don't speed on a cruise. You stay together and make sure the group doesn't get broken up. Pull over to the shoulder if you have to. It's not about proving you have a bigger d!ck than the other guy. When leaving Tyson's and merging onto 495, I hit triple digit speeds and still fell behind.
Brb, attending H2Oi to have a more enjoyable experience.

+1, I honestly think the Cali caravan everyone was going 75 to get that wall going.

Gotta agree with this. I was thinking we'd have our blinkers on, or making a huge wall of bimmers going 70max.

The GoPro must be deployed for any opportunity. I considered getting more flashy with sped up video for the opening roll call but everyone deserves equal time.

I'm not sure we were part of the same caravan. I left from Tyson's as well. Pat led the group and went the speed limit 90% of the way to Hunt Valley. It was one of the slowest rides I have been on in my time doing 'cruises' with the E90post crew. I have no complaints though.

In the end, there will always be someone that wants to go fast. If they do, just let them go. There is no reason to go triple digit speeds in this area. I will cruise the speed limit with you in the future, just fyi. I don't want/need any speeding tickets/insurance increase, etc.
