Preventative maintenance.

I am really interested in preventative maintenance for my car as I don't mind getting my hands dirty etc.

My car is serviced by myself regularly (oil and filters etc) but the question is what preventative maintenance can i complete that's suitable for my car and engine? "N57D30O0" (2009 245ps 330D)

An example is some older engines (mostly e46 320d) suffered with EGR vale problems etc but I don't know if mine does so don't know what maintain.

Hopefully some good ideas will come of this!

Garage List
Google 'Mike Miller's old school BMW maintenance schedule'. Should give you some ideas...

My ege valve on my 330d m57 with 90k is still really clean! No build up at all nor any in my manifold/head!

Saying that my 80k egr valve wasn't too bad by all means. But certainly worthwhile cleaning
