Nice car. I also have a '06 330 and as a former S6 owner looked into the RS6 but ended up finding a good deal on a 335 (which I can't yet figure out why it doesn't handle as well as the 330).

Head on over and check out the RS6 forum on Audiworld. After a couple of pages you will run away.

the RS6 is a great car... if you can afford the extra gas and perhaps the slightly higher maintenance cost, then i say go for it...

ughhh i was just on audiworld, in the rs6 section there almost ALL the posts are about repairs. ALL. here people talk about how the cars drive, there all they can talk about are the repairs theyve had to do to their cars, and how excited they are when audi comes out with a free recall. I really dont have the money for this car.....i mean i can buy the car, for sure, but its not like i have a job, im still in school.....do u guys think it would really be THAT bad

AV, do not mean harm but i have already proven to you beyond doubt that the RS6 is an Unreliable and Finicky car. There is nothing that can be gleaned from debating this topic further or trying to convince yourself otherwise, this car is not an affordable proposition for you. Do not buy it thinking that it wil serve you well for a year and can the be foisted off for a quick profit or not much of a loss.

So, as i say again, keep the 330i.

I wanted an RS6 SOOOO bad! I had a twin turbo Stg 2 S4. I met a gentleman at Sebring who said he just sold his RS6 and got a 335i. I screamed "Heresy", but; For all intents and purposes, just as fast, he said. Better car overall, less cost and BS.
I now own a 335i coupe. The RS6 cannot be after market warrantied and is blisteringly expensive to service. Is it a great car? F*** yeah!
The OP has a 330? try the 335i...

I guess...im looking into extended warranties to get around it, im going to see if its possible, theres usually always a good alternative

Really? Yeah i think my 330 handles better than my dads 335 too, his is an xi though. Was your s6 unreliable? And have you chipped your 335? Im thinking i could get it to the same performance as the rs6, but it might be just as unreliable if i mess with it that much

My S6 was the older 20v version with a lot of euro upgrades and engine mods (RS2). Engine would last forever but the car seemed to be costing me a couple of hundred a month even with myself doing much of the work. I would have liked a RS6 also. I've never driven one but imagine that it is faster than the 335 with a piggy back. But of course would not handle the same on back roads. Yes I could have afforded to buy one but my wife would never put up with the maintenance which I would become readily apparent after she was taking me to the dealer once every 2 weeks. I imagine my old independant audi mechanic would refuse to touch a RS6.

I think that the system that controls the active suspension (DRC?) on the RS6 is not covered by the extended warranties. This is usually a $4500 fix and is known to only last about a yr. There was some hoopla on audiworld that A0A is going to acknowledge that the units were defective and is going to reimburse the owners. I think that you have to find one with less than 50k to be able to get a good extended warranty and it would probably run at least $3500. I used to see a lot of them for sale right at about 50k which is when their is a major service due (read $$). Just to change O2 sensors requires an engine pull which is something like 12hrs for just the engine pull.

Went to the dragstrip this weekend, not very fast. Best time was a 14.75 and trap speed of 95. Pretty sure car and driver timed it at 14.2, and i have an auto so its not like i shifted badly.
An rs6 would get in the 12's...and a 335 in the 13s. I need to get one of those
