If you take that mindset with your car you'll die alone. My wife and I trade cars all the time (we did when we dated too). If we wreck one it'll be the end of the world.....ooops! Never mind, that's what insurance is for! Holy crap, grow up and apologize and hope she doesn't just dump your ass.

Edit: Unless she has a history of crashing cars

You should GROW UP
You dont trust your gf driving your car??????????????????
If that is the case get rid of her also.
Its only a CAR there are more important things in life. Its only a BMW gese. How could you really like your gf if your car is more important?

+1

I've been trying to get my gf to drive my car for years. She won't cause it's a 6 speed. If I had an auto I would have no problem with her driving my car.

If you don't want her to drive your car you shouldn't let her drive it.

Let her drive it. If not, it's going to be "an issue" until you do.

Let her drive. It is "only" a car and she is hopefully more important - otherwise find a new g/f. (You may even get rewarded for this with other kinds of ultimate experience).

Seriously, the more she likes the car, the more you'll be able to get buy-in for car related stuff (mods, track days, etc.). I managed to take my (reluctant) wife for 2 days to the BMW Performance Driving School. We had a blast.

Good luck in your relationship.

In all relationships, there's yours, ours and mine. Everything doesn't have to be shared.

Maybe when your car isn't so new you'll let her drive it.

I gave my ex the keys without hesitation, I trusted her enough to be careful with the car and she was. Though after she drove it once, she never asked to drive it again. I think the ladies are just testing us to see if we trust them enough with our cars, and in that case, you failed with flying colors.. Honestly, how many girls do you know that would enjoy driving a car with a stiff/sporty steering wheel, and a lot of power? They would rather drive a Lexus than our beloved BMW's.
