I'm a little skeptical...have you ever seen LUX in person? Pictures are extremely subjective--not only can you never recreate the exact same lighting in a future picture--but if you have nothing to compare it to in the picture, then how do you know it's actually brighter?? And the white balance of photos can really change how white (or not white) a product looks...

But nonetheless, my curiosity is piqued, let's see em'

You also have sun glare off the headlight you are trying to represent. Conditions conditions conditions I always say.

Anyone comparing angel eye pics is foolish. See them in person if you want to know the truth.

Very nice! You'll be very pleased with them, I know I am. I'll update the pics, it's just been a really busy weekend around the house, and I haven't had time to get them off of the camera.

While that is an interesting idea, they already do that! (at least on the E90 LCI)
and if you're going through the effort of splitting open the headlights, might as well go big and put full-LED rings in there for the ultimate in even...ness.

You can access them from the top, atleast on the e92 you can. It wont be a full 100% job but I'm sure every little bit helps. Soon as it warms up a bit I may try it out.

Hmm...seems like it's different on the E90 LCI...I have the cornering light doodad completely in the way, no way you could get a mirror to fit through the space available.

See if he'll be willing to swap bulbs for the photoshoot so you can show each car with one LUX and one HPB. Otherwise it's not going to be a fair comparison, since the two cars use different headlight housings, different rings, conduct the light differently, etc.

Mirror? I was referring to putting reflective tape around fiber optic. I'm sure its different on E90 LCI. All the models are different and also they way the reflect the light to the housings.

In my particular application you can access the inner ring fiber optics from the top of the engine and apply the tape accordingly. I will do it as soon as I get ahead. Been super busy.

Insulating the rings won't do much. The escaping light goes out the back of the rings. The light you see in the rings is refracted light that escapes.

Maybe, but you can also reflect the back of the rings too if you wanted to get serious. I've seen many clean setups use this approach for maximum gains. I dont think I have the skill set for that approach personally, and by skill set I mean patience.

haha yea. I think that would be the best approach, insulating the back of the rings, but if you go that route, why not just install full LED rings? The polished sides of the light tubes reflect light around inside the tube. The grooves on the back are frosted to let light diffuse and escape.

I was gearing towards more DIY approaches for those on a budget. Remember guys, I have this car too, and I like to find budget friendly ways to mod my car just like anyone else.
