Exhaust suggestions
So after a few months of running the PE with dps and race cats in the mids i decided to go back to stock mufflers because the cold start was just too much for me. Im at a bit of a cross roads right now because the stock mufflers are just too damn quiet even with everything thats done up stream and i have no,intention of reinstalling the pe cans. Any suggestions on finding a good middle ground would be much appreciated.

Was thinking of going with Corsa this time around or possibly AE. Want to have the ability to still mute the fugger on cold start with the flap. Would do the OEM mod to the cans but I don't know how to get in between full PE sound and OEM hush.

A local member here said he welded the stock exhaust flap on the PE exhaust to reduce noise level on start-up.

Nope. I don't know what BMW did to the mufflers on the is but they are different part numbers and have a very different sound.
I heard a RennArt exhaust the other day and loved it but can't seem to find it still for sale which is a huge bummer.

I've always liked Borla aggressive on NA/SC cars. Can't find a catless video. But it sounds a little deeper then stock.

Just a cell phone video of a cold start, but I am buying a gopro tomorrow so I will see if I can get a better video. The PE cold start is definitely louder than the borla. Something about the PE is much more high pitched and piercing than the borla which is much deeper in tone. I love the PE though. If it were as light as the borla, I would swap in heart beat.

Cut everything out. Mufflers, secondary cats, etc.
Then.. put in 2 or 4 AR25s, depending on how much drone you can live with. All done.

Nah the PE is made of a different metal, and I'm sure the internals are a bit different too. The iS mufflers are identical to the stock mufflers, but I guess they fiddled with the amount of packing inside. The iS mufflers are definitely more burbly, deeper, and louder than stock, but not as aggressive as the PE
