What? I can't get it to work? Mind to sort out the details? a picture of the screen/menu you are in that got it working will definatley help. I tried CD list n it works. USB anything doesn't work, and iPhone with the correct cable doesnt' work either.....

Displaying Chinese under Japanese menu correct? Or do you still mean dispalying Japanese?

BTW, I can make it work by using USB flash memory card, so it works not only on CD. I will try with my iPod and see what happen and report back.

Also, I try it on my MINI Clubman, not my E90 330i, but they have pretty much the same system so I think it should work on the E90/91/92/93 Series.

Mind to see if you can reproduce this on a e90? Note the production month/year if you can? I am pretty sure I was in pretty much the exact same menu/mode with my iPhone and the chinese came out garbage......

I need help on showing Chinese title too. The screen shows ??? as title so the car probably unable to read those Chinese characters. It just like magic on those who can shows Chinese on their cars.

From various reporting, it seems that 08+ cars can read chinese through 6FL, but 07 cars can't..... Evident from the post by Tmac911 (08 e92) and Bomb617 (Mini Clubman).

Maybe the dealer can do something about upgrading the head unit SW? Anybody have dealer that they know well that will be willing to find out if upgrading the head unit SW is possible?

The only thing that prevented from getting 6FL was that all my songs in the iPod was in Traditional Chinese.

Now if this is true for the '08, I'll try to get the retrofit iPod connector!

nope, japanese is only available to cheapo none idrive cars.... the idrive guys are SOL

Actually, I just talked to Tmac911. He said he used MP3 CD, not 6FL in displaying Chinese on a non-iDrive 08 e92. Which it has always worked for MP3 CD anyways on my 07 also....

So still no confirmed report of any non iDrive e90 or e92 displaying chinese out of 6FL (USB sticks or iPod)... only confirmed report by Bomb617 but on a Mini Clubman.... dang....

non-iDrive e90/e92 can display chinese via MP3 CDs, if you select Japanese in the head unit. It is actually the 6FL sources that doesn't work somehow... and primarily I want to know if anyone got 6FL working with Chinese on a non-iDrive e90/e92....

So far 6FL non-iDrive Mini Clubman works... which is supposed to have a similar head unit to e90/e92.....
