Just to update you guys. I have placed my order with Weichers for the 335i/135i today. When I have confirmed delivery date I will start taking payments from those that still want them.
We have 7 alu and 1 CF one coming in this batch. |

Sorry about the delay on these. They (335i strut bars) are finally ready to ship from Germany so I can start taking payments (01582 584 000). We have most of the other E9X strut bars in stock here.

i know this might be a silly question.. but what does a strut brace actually do?
i.e. it's not just something gimmicky that someone servicing the car with have a good giggle about when they pop the hood.. i'm tempted.. |

The body will flex to a degree on most saloons. Bracing it adds a degree of feel but its largely subjective. Its more noticable on cars with harder bushes and suspension mods where the loading on the chassis is potentially higher. At that point in a chassis tune you notice more give in the chassis. For a road car otherwise stock its largely 'bling' though tbh. So for me they are more of a feel thing than a measurable performance gain. I manufactured rear bracing for my S2000 and the lower rear was very noticable, moreso than front upper or lower. It made the breakaway point of traction easier to feel on track, and allowed the modified suspension to work more accurately. In that case it tied the two sides of the rear subframe together. A subjective mod really then. HTH Steve |

There is no noticeable change in the way the car handles, but it has stopped lots of dash and body creaks, especially over uneven bumps and the front end just feels more 'solid'. i.e I cross several speed bumps at angles in the mornings where one wheel crosses first, this alway gave groans and squeaks from the car. Now these are all gone, in fact all dash squeaks and rattles seem to be markedly reduced. Admitedly I have M3 bushes all round and the Birds uprated suspension setup, but these squeaks and groans were present with OE setup. Technically the OE M3 strut brace would be as good, or better, and it wouldn't restrict engine bay access. But a nice bit of polished ally always looks nice |

Sorry to bring up an old thread but during our move recently we came across some excess stock of these that we need to clear out.
Whilst stocks last: Alu £99 plus £15 shipping. Carbon Fibre £199 plus £15 shipping. These prices are around 40% off RRP. We have them in stock (E9X Petrol, Diesel and 335i) so can ship out next day or you can pick up from us. You can call us on 01582 584 000 to place an order or paypal (at) evolve automotive.com the order value plus your phone number and we can ship them out. |
