Buying that E46 was one of the the worst decision I made in my life so far. Not the decision of buying a BMW, but to have no knowledge & buying a BMW.

I know EXACTLY what you mean... I recall the RX-8's had oil burning issues, but I bought a 2001 Audi S4 with 118k miles... in the FIRST week the timing belt snaps, causing internal engine damage and a $3K repair bill! Informed decisions save so much $

LOL! My first car was a 1974 Fiat X 1/9. I'll just repeat what you said. "Fun car to drive, when it was working"

Ok, showing my age... My first car was a '76 Datsun 1200, that was previously my mother's, it was race prepped (She was into cars) dual side draft weber's, full length extractors, 1/2 race cams, bolt in roll cage, with shoulder harnesses )when most Japanese cars didn't even have seat belts). I wish I could have brought that car with me when I migrated to the US. Last I heard, it was rolled into a cane field and totaled, sometime in '86.

Wow, some pretty privelaged people around here! My first car was donated to me by my uncle, was a 1987 Chevy cavalier, had more rust than paint, only lasted about 8 months. Then I bought myself a beauty 1985 Chevy Chevette 4spd, pretty sure the previous owner sprayed painted himself all silver including the rims. That baby took me through some good years in highschool, the fold down rear seats and hatchback were money.

My first car was my dream car at the time, 1994. It was a 1993 Acura Integra 1.7L vtec. The first Honda/Acura to come out with VTEC w/ the exception of the NSX. I bought it used with 11K miles on it, from an older gentleman in Pheonix, that babied it for a year and needed a bigger car. I absolutely loved it and I had it for approx 3 years.

I’m almost embarrassed to say this, but my first car was a 1997 Dodge Neon that I bought in Toronto, in 1998. Black in color and it did have the double overhead cam engine with a whopping 150 horses….. 13 years later and doubled the HP….

Side note: loved that van!
Did my first engine swap on that bad boy. Had about two bags of extra bolts by the time it was all said and done. Lol

1969 Chevelle SS 396 / 425hp big block. Age 16 to 18. Before it was all over and done: punched out 30thousands, balanced and blue printed, polished ports, 2 holley 1200 4bbls, edelbrock manifold, solid lifters, 675 cam, hooker headers with 3" dumps, TRW pistons and rings, competion clutch, blow-proof bell housing and a dana 12 bolt 412 rear gears. Didn't do corners well, but got you in a straight line very fast and gas was about $0.30 a gallon then.
