DIY: Cabin Air Filter stripped threads repair

I never used epoxy, just drilled the proper size and pushed it in. Its really tight and secure. Just remember you dont need to go nuts with torque on these bolts, just hand tight with a screwdriver style bit is fine.

Over-tightening is how the screw holes got stripped in the 1st place.

finally got around to this today and was super easy.

1. find a 1/4" drill bit, put the insert beside it and mark the length off with electrical tape on the drill bit

2. drill the hole to the marked depth

3. install the insert knurl side down and lightly tap with a hammer to get it to sit flush

4. reinstall cowl cover and tighten the new bolts by hand

5. realize it only took you roughly 15 mins to solve the stripped threads and reward yourself with ice cold drinks

Just got mine in, but not sure when I'll get to installing them. Only two of my threads are stripped and the BMS filters really don't need much to stay in. I want to put some of that Plastic Weld on them too and don't have that handy, yet.
