Warranty and paint less dent repair help
Hi all
I have a 2011 E92 335i M Sport with 46,000 miles on it. There are no major issues for the past 3 years. Only recently, there is an engine malfunction light came on, and the dealer did a bunch of work and testing to fix the issue. It s running fine now. The warranty expiration is approaching. I contacted the dealer and ask for the 3 year/100k miles extended warranty and maintenance. Not surprising at all. They want $4000 for the warranty and $2000 for the maintenance. So the total is about $6K. Should I purchase the warranty and maintenance? Or should I find a reputable shop to do an independent inspection to make sure that it has no major problem and not getting the extended warranty and maintenance. If yes, what are the recommended shops? Also, any recommendation on a good paintless dent repair shop? Thank you for your input. |

$6K seems like highway robbery. Short of blowing your engine/tranny and needing to replace it, I can't see how you wouldn't come out ahead having the maintenance and repairs done at an indy. The N55 hasn't seemed to have the turbo issues and/or HPFP issues of the N54 (and the HPFP may still be covered by the extended warranty? I'm not sure when that stops). In general, I always joke that extended warranties are not a non-profit program Much like casinos, they are (very) profitable for the dealers because they come out ahead on the average - i.e. there are more losers than winners.
And everyone in Denver seems to love AR Design - I'd look them up for your indy work. -Rich |

Thanks Rich for the input. I thought AR Design only does the performance aspect of it. I ll check them out. Yea, for $6000, I could almost lease a brand new car for three years and use it as the daily driver. Anyone has suggestion on paintless dent repairs?
