Angel Eye Bulb
So I need to replace my angel eye bulb on my 2007 e90 with xenons. I have been looking at this forum along with others and while most of the posts concentrate on the actual rings or the whole headlight assembly and how to modify/upgrade it, I have yet to find anything here that shows what type/make/model angel eye bulbs people buy.
So to start, has anyone used this? http://store.ijdmtoy.com/BMW-E90-E91...el-eyes-s9.htm If so, how long have you used them and how do you like them? How about this? Part # LHUXX3W2Y90 from Bavarian Auto? Or how about this? http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Br...l+eye+LED+bulb Or this? Too crazy? http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Br...l+eye+LED+bulb Or what have you guys used? All I'm looking for, is to replace my bulbs with LED upgrades. And of course I'm looking for error free bulbs. So let's hear the suggestions and experiences from you people! Thanks in advance! |

I am running LED bulbs from http://www.bmwled.net/. They are fairly bright and look amazing. You can find pictures in the $60 angel eye thread. Otherwise for swapping bulbs, you can go with LUX angel eyes or MTEC angel eyes if you dont like the LED ones. Havent seen aynthing on the other bulbs.

So the BMWLED option could work. Not crazy about the Lux option for my pre-lci 2007 e90, and certainly not for $180.
Anyone else use the ijdmtoy option? |

Lots of guys run GP thunders if you want a halogen option. They don't have a clean look like LEDs, but tend to have better daylight visibility vs. LEDs. If you're set on LEDs, the best bang for the buck right now seem to be the 20 watt CREE bulbs. I think they're between $60-$70

Nice bulb.
http://www.sonictuning.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Mtech+v4 Paid $137.00 These are 7k 2007 335i pre-LCI Going to upgrade my daytime driving lights to Phillips diamond vision h7 5000k You have to be careful on color. Police will pull you over and ticket you if your bulbs are too blue and definitely will ticket you with Red angel eyes in many states. Probably a good idea to at least google your state law on color of automotive lights and save yourself the ticket and headache. |

I went to the MTEC website as well and they also have a v4. Has anyone used these yet? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Just the thread I've been looking for! Thumbs up... Stickied :-)
while the bulbs are being discussed and waiting to make my decision, may I kindly ask for a link to a DIY video? Want to know ballpark time to replace and difficulty to access the bulbs. Thanks in advance. |

I have the M-tech V4.
Very bright with a tinge of blue. As far as time to change them? It took me about an hour. You have to jack up the front of the car and take both front wheels off. Then take the wheel well covers off in order to access the cover where the angle eye bulb is. There is a video on Bav Auto site. |

How long have you had the V4? This is what i'm leaning towards as well.
As for a DIY link, here is one It took me about 25 minutes to get to one bulb, and I took my time because I was learning. I would say, one hour for the whole job on both sides. |

Only had them a month.
Most of the BMW enthusiast that I know of go with one of two brands. 1) Lux 2) M-tech When I found the M-tech for 137.00, it was a no brainer to me. |

I've been looking into this also, but have halogens u fortunately and most sites list their bulbs as for vehicles with xenons only. Are the bulbs really different or just different colors?

The new LUX V4 Angel Eyes are awesome. I first saw them at Bimmerfest East a couple of weeks ago and liked them a lot. I purchased a set at Bimmerfest and have been extremely happy so far. Pictures do not do these bulbs justice, you need to see them in person and adjust the output to your liking.
Believe they are using the CREE LED's http://luxangeleyes.com/ |

I have been doing some research and find that the new LED bulbs are hit and miss. And what I mean is that they are pricey and don't always light up the second (outside) corona properly. Some have error codes, and some flicker. My car is too nice for this, so I just bought some PIAA H8 bulbs (I have an X5) that will give it a better look.
I have come to the realization that NOTHING will make it look like the OEM LED lights, so unless I will retrofit new headlights, I'll go with the nicest H8 halogen bulbs I can buy. |

I just found this thread as my driver side angel eye burned out. There seems to be a number of different options which gets confusing.
1. Cheapest: Xenon bulb, $17 per pair. http://www.e92-lighting.com/products...ITE-43-16.html 2. Lux AE or others mentioned on this thread. Am I understanding this correctly - these are LED versions, hence the premium in price (LUX are ~$180)? 3. Question - why can't you just buy an LED bulb? Like this one for $50? http://store.ijdmtoy.com/BMW-E90-E91...el-eyes-s9.htm |

1. This is not what i'm asking here. 2. Certainly an option, but definitely the most expensive one. 3. This has been on my mind since day one. I don't mind paying $180 for the Lux, but I have not found any reviews, good or bad. There are lots of options for Angel Eye bulbs, both regular and LED and the prices are quite variant from around $50 to $180. I'm looking for other people's experience with any bulbs. So far, it looks like there are not many out there that have had burned bulbs or they're just not chiming in. |
