rotor rust ring

Anyone seen this before? The rust is only on one section of the rotor. And no amount of drive time removes it.

looks like part of your brake pad isnt in contact with the rotor, check the condition of your pads, could be uneven wear

that rust ring looks like how rotors get when you leave your car out for a few days without driving it, the rust layer is cleaned of when you drive your car and the pads rub against the rotor.. but looks like rust ring isnt getting any friction for some reason. should be an easy fix though.

Any suggestions? I don't even know where to start in going about fixing this. Could it be something that go away with time? Like the the brake pad starts to even out.

where did you get the brakes installed? if it was at the dealer, ask them to have a look and replace the pads if necessary.. another thing you might want to do, is redo the bed in process for pads onto the rotors.
