Funny you say that Brand new Audi s5 didn't even have the license plates yet rolled up on me and kept tempting me so we took off I started pretty even for a little bit then i started to pull away from him and was gone... The look on his face once we both got to the stop light was priceless . My car Stock he would have killed me.

I've edged out two S5's off the line, which surprised me... maybe they just didn't know how to get the most out of their cars yet.

I don't anyone has mentioned that the v8 sound from the S5 is absolutely incredible. Not even the m3 v8 sounds as good as the S5.

I have a 2011 335is and I love the car...
though I did consider an S4. For some reason I really prefer the looks of the BMW coupe and the Audi sedan. I just don't think that 3 Series BMW sedans look quite as nice as the Audi A4s and S4s. I never got a chance to drive the Audi (none on the lot when I looked) so I'm happy to hear that many test drove both and preferred the 335is.
I have the DCT but wonder sometimes if I should have gotten the 6MT. I know the DCT is faster and I still drive in manual mode 99.9% of the time (and my wife can drive it in a pinch) but I do miss the feeling of rowing the gears and engaging the clutch. The DCT sometimes feels too "easy" for me. All of that said, I'd probably give up the 335is for a '04-'07 S4 just so I can have a car paid off and don't have to make any more lease payments. Its my first leased car and, as much as I've enjoyed it, throwing money away takes away from the enjoyment... especially when I hardly get to drive it more than 3 miles/day (and its my DD... blame a short commute). |

I feel exactly the same as you. The 3 series coupes just look better than the Audis, but the BMW sedans don't look as good as the Audi ones. DCT is only worth having if you were to track the car in my opinion. As you said, it's too easy. It would take away half the fun of driving for me. |

How does the s5 sound at 8,000 rpm? Test drove one then bought an m3. S5 6mt also has tons of tranny problems. At least to '11 when I was shopping

I beat a bolt on 335i in my jetta...moral of the story is, buy a vw Golf R, tune it and call it a day, you'll be eating S5s & 335's for breakfast...and upgrades are cheaper

I was referring to the M-sport sedan being faster. It gets a boost like the PPK Stage 1 that you can buy for the current model, and it's lighter than the E90 and E92, placing it within the same range as the IS. Where do you get your no-info?

Referring to the M-sport sedan being in the same range as an IS, not factually faster. You may want to laugh about your reading skills, though.
