DIY Garage rentals in NoVA

Hello Forum,

Do any of you know if there are any DIY garage rentals available around the Fairfax/NoVA area? I was looking for a space to do some paint correction.

My apartment dont allow it anymore(thanks to someone spilling tans fluid all over), and the friends garage I used to use, has 2 cars on jack stands completely disassembled.

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks!
RD

Hey man, I had looked into this a while ago because I'm in the same boat. Want to polish and put a sealant on my car but don't have a garage. I remember finding a place in chantilly, think I bookmarked it in my computer. I'll check as soon as I'm home.

If you have some kind of affiliation to the Dept of Defense, there’s one at Ft.Belvoir. That’s the only one I know of. There was one in dulles or thereabouts but I think it closed due to insurance issues.

The base auto shops are run through the MWR group. If you are not military or DoD civilian or someone working on base (ie Contractor working elsewhere) you will need to check with the base MWR to find out if you are eligible to use the facility.

There are no DIY garages in this immediate area other than the ones mentioned at military bases (Aberdeen has one too). Several entrepreneurs tried going down this route, but with the high, upfront capital costs and insurance liability issues, they closed down pretty fast.

The only other option that I know is NCC of BMWCCA. We run a DIY program where we have access to dealers/independent shops, usually once a month, to work on our cars. Mostly maintenance items like fluid and brakes changes, but still access to a lift to work on our cars is invaluable. Not to mention the parts discounts.

Sorry for the late response. The place I found was called NKZ autobody in chantilly. I'm down to split some time with someone so I can do some paint correction on my car.

Thanks man! Maybe we can tag along. I am looking to do paint correction after all. I'm sure if you've done this process; its a long one. PM me if you want to plan something together.
